The long-awaited Xbox release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is almost here! On December 12th, a Game Preview version of PUBG will be available to Xbox players via the Xbox Game Preview Program. The preview version of the game will cost $29.99 and is available to players with an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
PC players have had access to PUBG since March, but console players have had to wait for their chance to test their skills in the multiplayer battle royale game. Unfortunately for those on PS4, the December 12th console release of PUBG is exclusive to Xbox.
According to a recent tweet from the game’s creator, Brendan Greene, the Xbox One and Xbox One X versions will both run at 30 FPS. Greene had previously stated that the frame rate for the Xbox One X would be higher (at 60 FPS) but his recent tweet confirms that the frame rate will be 30 FPS across both consoles:
While I’m expecting the preview version to be pretty buggy, I am very excited to finally be able to play the game I’ve spent countless hours watching other people stream. Maybe I’ll even get that coveted chicken dinner, although let’s be real—I’ll probably just hide in a bathroom for a while.
