Happy Halloween and Happy Tuesday! It seems that the releases are trying to trick us this week by offering slim pickings for Blu-rays this week. Now I could pick The Dark Tower which is basically the only Blu-ray out this week but I am going to treat y’all and pick one of last week’s releases. Annabelle: Creation is a much better movie than anything out this week and is much more fitting for Halloween.
Former toy maker Sam Mullins and his wife Esther are happy to welcome a nun and six orphaned girls into their California farmhouse. Years earlier, the couple lost their 7-year-old daughter Annabelle in a tragic car accident. Terror soon strikes when one of the girls finds a seemingly innocent doll that seems to have a life of its own. – Warner Bros. Pictures
Annabelle: Creation is the sequel to the prequel of The Conjuring, as crazy as that sounds this movie is actually good. The first Annabelle is no good apparently, I wouldn’t know I didn’t see it. I did see Annabelle: Creation and I loved it plus it was a prequel so I didn’t need to see the first. This movie doesn’t reinvent the horror genre or anything like that but it does the haunted trope quite effectively and gives you characters you’ll actually care about. David F. Sandberg knows how to direct horror and Annabelle: Creation is no exception, you will be scared. I also recommend Sandberg’s directorial debut Lights Out. Annabelle: Creation is a fantastic scary movie and I couldn’t recommend it more. Perfect Halloween, very spooky!

- Digital HD
- Special Features
- The Horror Continues
- Horror Shorts: Attic Panic and Coffer
