It’s Morphin’ Time as the Mighty Power Rangers make their silver screen debut in theaters across the world. Based on the original t.v. show, 2017 Power Rangers is revamped and ready to enter the hearts of a new generation of kids. The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’ original audience has grown up, and you can bet that our butts were firmly planted in theater seats. For you youngins’ who don’t know the story, here’s Hollywood’s take on the t.v. show:
Jason, Billy, Zack, Trini, and Kimberly were, by all accounts, delinquents. Each were gifted with various things: Athleticism, Intelligence, Cleverness, and so on, but each found themselves labeled as troublemakers for various reasons. When they find themselves in the same place at the same time, the group discovers a handful of different-colored glowing coins. They start developing new powers through these coins, as well as new strengths and abilities that they didn’t have before. When they return to the caves where they’d found the coins, they discover the answer to what’s happening to them – they’ve been chosen to be the new Power Rangers, shouldered with the duty of protecting Earth’s life crystal from a villain, and former Power Ranger herself, Rita Repulsa. Can they band together to protect their home? Or will these Rangers fall as their predecessors did?
