In less than a month it is finally morphin’ time, with the release of the newest movie in the well known Power Rangers franchise. It serves as a reboot and re-imagining of the franchise. It also marks the first Power Ranger film in the 21st Century. The film features most of the main characters of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers portrayed by a new and younger cast – Jason (Dacre Montgomery), Kimberly (Naomi Scott), Billy (RJ Cyler), Zack (Ludi Lin) and Trini (Becky Gomez) – and is produced by Franchise creator Haim Saban.
The story will be a modern reinvention of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of ordinary high school kids in the small town of Angel Grove who find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and must harness those powers as a team to save their town and the world from an alien threat. This threat comes from Rita Repulsa and her own version of a Zord, Goldar.
Throughout the trailers that Lionsgate has released, an in-action look at the Zords has remained out of sight. But the VR experience is the source of the best look yet at all five Zords. The images feature the Red Ranger’s Tyrannosaurus Rex, the Pink Ranger’s Pterodactyl, the Black Ranger’s Mastodon, the Blue Ranger’s Triceratops, and the Yellow Ranger’s Sabertooth Tiger.
