As TGON has noted time and again, we are in the ultimate peak TV continuum. The charge has been led not by the networks but by the “fringe”: basic cable, streaming and premium channels.

Last season proved to be massive for formerly fringiest of fringe channel, FX. Boasting the year’s most lauded limited series (“The People Vs. OJ Simpson”) and critical darlings “The Americans” and “Fargo,” FX has proven its worth in taking chances, hiring top notch writers and casting outstanding talent.

Which leads us to Tuesday’s premiere of the newest ambitious offering, “Taboo.” The British-produced vehicle is led by Tom Hardy in the role of James Delaney. Set in the Industrial Revolution of London in 1814, Delaney (thought to be very, very deceased) returns to England after his father’s death. Running his family’s nascent shipping business, the past and present haunt him as decisions lead to murder, mayhem and treachery.

The 8 episodes will run on all FX networks and its streaming app, FXNow. TGON will be right in the thick of it with recaps, reviews and livetweets. Join our premiere livetweet session Tuesday, January 10th at 10PM using #TabooTime.
