This past weekend I attended my first comic con at Wizard World San Jose. Plainly speaking it was a great experience, I am going to be attending more events in the future. I didn’t take many pictures this time because I was to busy looking at all the sights.
As anyone who watches the mail minute knows I enjoy mystery boxes and Funko pops. To bad my wallet doesn’t enjoy them as much as I do because every toy, comic, and practically any Funko pop you could think of was there. I did pick up things I’ve had trouble finding.
ART ART ART, so much amazingly talented art! I don’t buy a lot of art, I don’t have any up in my house or office, but I will soon. Once you see the art they have at these events you will understand.

Stars, lots of stars, current stars, past stars and likely stars you don’t know because you don’t watch that particular show. It was great to see them in person, you would have to come with a set plan ahead of time if you want to have time with them. Not only does it cost a good amount to get a picture or autograph, but you are also investing your time at the event to see them. I didn’t go through with that because I wanted plenty of time to experience as much as I could from the entire event. With that said I think if you don’t plan to get any pictures or autographs with stars you could experience this particular con in one or two days.
Cosplay! One of the coolest parts of this event was seeing the different characters people wanted to dress up as. From young and old and every age in between, you see what people are interested in, the great hand crafted costumes, and the willingness to have a picture taken if asked nicely was a great thing to see. It’s a good thing to take it in the first couple of days to see how the regulars handle the situations so you don’t do anything that is viewed as taboo.
In closing I have to say this is a fun event for the whole family. If you don’t believe me you can always ask Bob and his family. – Jon
