I didn’t read the comic before hand so I watch this premiere with an open mind.  I quickly found myself enjoying this show more than I thought I would. It started off fast pace and cut right down to the point.  I felt this gave it a nice quirky feel to the show. The pop culture references to other zombie media was nice and it didnt feel forced at all. iZombie seems to be a mixed of Veronica Mars and Buffy which will help you know if this is the show for you.
