Flight simulation is one of those gaming hobbies that can begin with a standard controller and quickly evolve into an entire cockpit taking over your desk. At first, you may be perfectly happy flying with a gamepad. Then you add a flight stick, discover how much better precise throttle control feels, and suddenly you are researching rudder pedals, mounting systems, and every other accessory that promises to make your next flight feel more authentic.

Turtle Beach is leaning directly into that progression with a major expansion of its VelocityOne flight simulation lineup. The company has revealed the VelocityOne Flightstick II, VelocityOne Dual Throttle, VelocityOne H.O.T.A.S. system, and VelocityOne Universal Sim Mount for Xbox and PC players. Together, the new hardware is designed to offer more precise control, extensive customization, and a setup that can grow alongside a player’s interest in flight simulation.

For anyone who regularly plays Microsoft Flight Simulator, combat flight games, or space exploration simulators, the most exciting part of the announcement is not simply that Turtle Beach has created another flight stick. It is that the company appears to be building a more complete and flexible simulation ecosystem that can work for beginners while still offering enough depth for experienced pilots.

VelocityOne Flightstick II Offers Greater Precision

The centerpiece of the new lineup is the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flightstick II. The updated controller uses 16 bit Hall effect sensors capable of registering more than 65,000 input counts per axis. In practical terms, that increased resolution should allow players to make smaller and smoother adjustments during flight.

That level of precision can matter during almost every type of simulation. Commercial pilots need careful control when lining up with a runway, maintaining altitude, or making a difficult landing in bad weather. Combat pilots depend on quick but accurate movements while tracking targets and avoiding incoming fire. Space simulation fans may need delicate thruster adjustments while docking with a station or approaching a distant landing zone.

The Flightstick II also includes 38 programmable inputs, giving players quick access to important controls without constantly reaching for a keyboard. Flight simulators are known for having an enormous number of commands, and even a capable controller can feel limiting when basic functions remain hidden inside menus. More programmable buttons allow players to assign commonly used systems, weapons, navigation commands, and camera controls directly to the hardware.

Turtle Beach has also added an integrated cockpit control dial that can provide up to nine additional inputs through a dual encoder and three position switch. Combined with dual levers, a precision thumbstick, and a multifunction wheel, the Flightstick II gives players several ways to control throttle, cameras, onboard systems, and other simulation functions.

A Flight Stick Designed For Different Players

One of the smartest elements of the Flightstick II is its ambidextrous design. Adjustable wrist rests, thumb rests, and swappable inserts allow the controller to support both left handed and right handed configurations. This is particularly useful for players building more specialized setups, including configurations that use two flight sticks instead of a traditional stick and throttle combination.

The adjustable spring response should also make the controller more comfortable across different types of games. Some players prefer a lighter stick for rapid movements during combat, while others want firmer resistance that creates a greater sense of weight during commercial or general aviation. The twist function can also be locked when the Flightstick II is paired with separate VelocityOne Rudder Pedals or another rudder solution. This makes the controller approachable for newcomers while preserving the flexibility needed by players with more advanced simulation equipment.

The full color Flight Management Display adds a more premium touch. It provides real time information, access to settings, and the ability to make adjustments without completely leaving the simulation. Customizable lighting is also included for players who want the Flightstick II to match the rest of their gaming setup.

VelocityOne Dual Throttle Expands Cockpit Control

A flight stick can make simulated flying feel dramatically better, but a dedicated throttle is often the component that makes a setup begin to resemble a real cockpit. The new VelocityOne Dual Throttle provides two control levers with 10 bit Hall effect sensors and more than 1,000 input counts per axis.

The dual lever configuration supports aircraft with two engines, while a locking mechanism allows both levers to function together for single engine aircraft. This should make the throttle useful across a wide range of simulations rather than limiting it to one particular style of flying.

Turtle Beach has also included interchangeable throttle detents that can provide physical reference points for afterburners, idle positions, and reverse thrust. These tactile markers can make an enormous difference during a long simulation session because players can feel when the throttle reaches a specific point instead of constantly checking an indicator on the screen.

Adjustable throttle tension allows players to choose how easily the levers move, while 35 programmable inputs and seven control axes provide access to additional aircraft functions. On supported PC games, LED throttle indicators can display thrust levels or other assigned simulation information.

The Dual Throttle connects independently to Windows PCs through USB. Xbox players can use it by connecting the throttle directly to the Xbox version of the VelocityOne Flightstick II. This distinction is important for console pilots because flight simulation accessories are often far more limited on Xbox than they are on PC.

The Complete VelocityOne H.O.T.A.S. System

Players who want both new controllers can purchase them together as the VelocityOne H.O.T.A.S. system. H.O.T.A.S. stands for Hands On Throttle And Stick, describing a setup that keeps the pilot’s most important commands available without requiring frequent keyboard use.

The combined system offers 73 programmable inputs, high resolution Hall effect sensors, adjustable controls, lighting options, and compatibility with several types of flight simulation. It is designed for commercial aviation, military combat, and space flight rather than targeting only one corner of the simulation audience.

That versatility may become one of the system’s greatest strengths. Flight simulation fans often move between very different games. One evening might involve a careful passenger flight between major airports, while the next is spent flying a fighter jet or exploring another solar system. A configurable system that can save aircraft specific profiles is far more useful than hardware designed around a single experience.

Players can manage dead zones, response curves, lighting, and aircraft profiles through the VelocityOne Flight Hangar application. These adjustments should allow users to create different configurations for specific aircraft and switch between them without remapping every command before each session.

A More Practical Universal Sim Mount

The most overlooked part of many simulation setups is not the controller itself. It is figuring out where to put everything. Flight sticks and throttles can consume a large amount of desk space, and placing them directly beside a keyboard does not always create a comfortable or believable cockpit position.

The VelocityOne Universal Sim Mount attempts to solve that problem with a steel clamp system that supports flight sticks, throttles, racing shifters, handbrakes, and other simulation accessories. It offers 240 millimeters of vertical adjustment, allowing players to position equipment lower than the surface of the desk for a more natural seating position.

The mount can support center stick or side stick layouts and includes an integrated mousepad that keeps a mouse nearby without consuming additional desk space. It is also compatible with aluminum extrusion simulation rigs, making it useful for players who eventually move from a standard desk setup to a dedicated cockpit.

What makes the mount particularly appealing is its broader compatibility. It was designed for VelocityOne products, but Turtle Beach says it will also work with a variety of accessories from other manufacturers. That means players should not need to replace their entire collection of hardware just to use the mounting system.

Is The New VelocityOne System Worth Watching?

The flight simulation accessory market already includes several respected manufacturers, so Turtle Beach is entering a space filled with experienced competitors. However, the new VelocityOne products appear to offer an interesting balance between accessibility and advanced functionality.

The Flightstick II provides enough built in controls for someone taking their first serious step beyond a gamepad, while its Hall effect sensors, adjustable tension, display, and expansion options should also appeal to experienced players. The Dual Throttle adds the physical control and tactile feedback that can make different aircraft feel more distinctive. The Universal Sim Mount solves a practical problem that nearly every simulation fan eventually encounters.

The complete H.O.T.A.S. package carries a suggested price of $279.99, placing it above entry level equipment but below many enthusiast systems that can become extremely expensive once every component is purchased separately. The Flightstick II and Dual Throttle will each be available individually for $149.99, while the Universal Sim Mount will cost $59.99.

Actual performance will ultimately determine whether the new controllers earn a place among the best flight simulation accessories. Sensor quality, software reliability, button placement, throttle resistance, and long term durability are all difficult to judge without spending considerable time with the hardware.

Even so, the expanded VelocityOne lineup looks promising for Xbox and PC pilots who want more precise control without immediately committing to a highly specialized cockpit. Turtle Beach is not simply releasing another joystick. It is creating a scalable flight simulation system that can begin on a desktop and gradually expand with throttles, pedals, mounting hardware, and additional controls.

The VelocityOne Flightstick II, Dual Throttle, H.O.T.A.S. system, and Universal Sim Mount are scheduled to launch on September 21, 2026. For flight simulator fans who have been waiting for an excuse to upgrade their setup, this new collection may be worth adding to the preflight checklist.
