I seemed to be less annoyed at the people of Erinsborough over the past week, which is a minor miracle since I’ve been in a Nicolette-style mood for days. I’ll try not to be too salty as I round everything up.
Elle and Felix Get Together
It’s been on the cards for a while, but finally Elle and Felix get together when he follows her like a lost puppy dog to protect her when she goes to do surveillance on “Jonesy”. To be fair to Felix, Elle does seem to need some protection, as she thinks that a good way to take undercover photos of someone is to stand directly opposite them, just snapping away photos on her phone in full view. Felix standing next to her cosplaying as a businessman hardly makes her operation any more subtle either.
Despite this, she does manage to get photos of the Mayor and Jonesy kissing, and it breaks open the whole sorry tale of the two of them committing fraud by profiting off the aquisition of properties ahead of the new freeway being built.
Unfortunately, while Felix and Elle are busy having sex all over the house, the Mayor is getting arrested and threatening revenge on anyone who’ll listen. Shortly afterwards, it’s announced that the revised plans for the new freeway will mean it’s going straight through Ramsay Street.
Getting back to Felix and Elle, I like them as a couple more than I thought I would. She can be a bit of a loose cannon, and he’s an absolute wet lettuce these days, but they seem to complement each other quite well for some reason.

Jane Is Being Weird About Nicolette’s Baby Situation
Jane is oddly fixated on Nicolette’s reluctance to have another baby by herself. I get that Jane doesn’t want Nicolette to miss out on her dream of having another baby, but I find it quite strange the lengths she goes to to persuade Nicolette to go it alone after the disappointment of the arrangement with Leo and Krista falling through. She even ropes Isla in for a bit of emotional exploitation, which works. Nicolette eventually decides to start looking for donors, but I feel like she would probably have got there on her own eventually without Jane’s persistence. I just find the pressure she puts on Nicolette really odd.

Clint and Jane Are Tentatively Back On
Jane and Clint are spending more and more time together, and it’s clear they’re both still into each other. Nicolette initially warns him off because she’s worried he’s using Addison to try to get closer to Jane again, but she relents as she sees how much Jane enjoys having him around.
I have to admit, I don’t think I ever really got on board with Jane and Clint last time, but this time around I think I’m more into it. I’ve warmed to him, and it’s about time Jane had a bit of luck in the love department, if only to make Sue Parker jealous.

Terese Proposes
It’s not all that long ago that Paul proposed to Terese and she turned him down. It’s her turn to be disappointed now, as she proposes to him and he says no. At first she believes the reasons he gives her, but when he buys her an incredibly expensive and very ugly car to make up for saying no, her suspicions are aroused.
Paul has already told Leo that he can’t marry Terese because he’s still keeping two secrets from her, and Leo’s poker face is so terrible that he immediately gives away to Terese that there’s more behind Paul’s reluctance to marry.
The secrets Paul is keeping are that he and Chelsea kissed in the middle of all the baby drama, and that he knew he wasn’t the baby’s father well before it all went public, but was willing to go along with the lie. I don’t get this at all. Either the secrets Paul’s keeping are too important to hide from Terese or they’re not. What difference does getting married make? They’re together, and he’s keeping things from her whether they’re married or not.
Anyway, he decides he needs to come clean and tell Terese why he really said no, which he should have done months ago anyway.

My Way Or the Highway
I know it’s a freeway rather than a highway, but I don’t know what the difference is and it worked better as a headline.
Anyway, the freeway is coming straight through Ramsay Street, and everyone decides to band together to try to fight it, although considering that we’re hurtling towards the end of Neighbours (again), I don’t think they’re going to be successful.
One of the reasons they might not win is because they’re not going to be a united front. Wendy has decided to take a scorched earth approach to the end of her marriage, and is currently packing up all her belongings, boxing Andrew’s up for when he gets his act together and finds somewhere to live, and making plans to sell the house the first opportunity she gets. I can’t say I blame her.

Awkward Andrew
Andrew, Holly and Susan have a very awkward wait at the hospital ahead of Holly’s 12-week scan. When the two prospective parents see their baby they share a bit of a moment, and Holly begins to hope that they might get back together and be a family.
Andrew, as usual, doesn’t really know what he wants. Cara immediately chucks him out as soon as she gets home, which I loved, and Wendy doesn’t want him anywhere near her. So at the moment he’s staying at the grubby hotel where he and Holly had all of their rendezvous.
Holly shows up there and basically demands that he makes a decision about whether he wants to be with her or not. I understand that there’s a baby-shaped clock ticking and that she wants to know where she stands with the father of the baby, but the man’s entire life just imploded. His marriage is over, he’s probably going to be sacked and he’s homeless – I’m not sure now is the time to be making big life decisions. She kisses him anyway, because Holly never made a good decision in her life.
My prediction is that he’s going to end up moving in with the Kennedys. Because he doesn’t have the good sense to stay away from a street where 80% of the residents hate him.

A Few Random Notes
As usual, here are a few random notes I took while watching Neighbours this week:
- That’s not how you say “Devonshire.”
- Do you have to have married the same man more than once to work at Eirini? Colton needs to catch up.
- What will Paul and Elle be able to tell Annaliese about the bar? It’s crap and they’re never there.
- Annaliese looks like she’s got her top on backwards.
- Hahahahaha! Jane telling Sue Parker to rack off! Amazing.
- So Karl is giving Felix the day off to go and bone Elle?
- I loved Felix telling Andrew that he can’t be “Choosy Drewsy” in the middle of a very serious conversation about him being potentially homeless. Peak sibling energy.
