Conflict defines character.  Superheroes then are defining their character day in and day out.  Each enemy they come across defines their nature in different ways.  However, this is not only true for heroes.  But for villains too.  Several villains are adapting, changing and evolving to deal with their hero.  In some cases, multiple heroes.  In other case, these villains are adjusting to both hero and villain.  One of the most iconic villains has to deal with multiple heroes, multiple teams and other villains to claim their goals.  That villain is Doctor Doom.  He wants things his way because he believes no one or nothing is beyond him.  That has put him on a collision course with a large collection of Marvel defenders and attackers.  But Doctor Doom sets his eyes on all levels.  In a wild story, that could lead him to the DC universe.  If Doctor Doom would reign doom in the DC universe, how would that look like?

So, one of the first things are the different relics and items that Doctor Doom would love to get his hands on.  One, or several, would be the power rings.  Once Doctor Doom gets wind of them and the amount of power they possess, he would not stop until he has all of them.  And even if an emotion is not strong enough to power one of the rings, Doctor Doom will definitely do what he can to bend them all to his will, similar to what a young Bruce Wayne did to become Dawnbreaker.  Doctor Doom is a powerful sorcerer in the Marvel Universe, so no doubt he would seek magic on the DC side of things.  One of the most powerful magical relics in DC is Doctor Fate’s helmet.  This will be something he would be keenly interested in.  Bypass any and all warnings to get it in his possession.  Then use it not to maintain order but to unleash doom.  Something that would be high on his list of priorities will be Mother Boxes.  If he discovers how powerful they really are, he’s going to hunt for them.  Perhaps change his technology to adapt or become the technology inside the mother boxes.  He could also make his doombots reflect Cyborg.  Cyborg got his abilities because of a mother box, making Victor Stone into an absolute powerful smart computer combined with the might of all military power in the world.  Doom could easily make his doombots like that.  But the one thing that Doctor Doom will go on a warpath for, is the anti-life equation.  Once acquired, the user could enslave all of the multiverse.  If Doctor Doom is willingly to take out an alternate Earth where Reed Richards has proven that he’s better that Victor Von Doom, of course Doctor Doom will make all of the multiverse bow to him due to the anti-life equation.  He is a man who mocks godhood.  Has even said godhood is beneath him.  Being the ruler of everything, seems to be in Doctor Doom’s goals.  There are more relics and artifacts than this in the DC universe, but Doom seeks power and he would want to get the most powerful of them the quickest.

Very much like his villainous presence in the Marvel Universe, Doctor Doom will make enemies of DC superheroes.  Due to his power, heroes like Superman would clash with Doom.  Perhaps Wonder Woman.  He would be on Doctor Fate’s radar.  Doom vs Fate just sounds like it belongs in a comic book.  But since Doctor Doom has the will, the intelligence, the drive, the hunger for power, power itself and cruelty all wrapped in one body, that puts him on an inevitable clash with the Justice League.  Doctor Doom would be a great villain, if not a perfect villain, for the Justice League.  Everything that each member brings to the table, Doctor Doom is that.  He has power that could match or at least deflect Superman’s power.  The riches that may overtake Batman’s own.  Knows the mystical and mythical powers that Wonder Woman and Aquaman bring.  Could match or surpass Cyborg’s technology.  Have magical or technological defenses against Martain Manhunter.  Perhaps have something that rivals Green Lantern’s power ring.  And could figure out the science behind the Speed Force to slow down The Flash.  The Suicide Squad could also come in conflict with him.  Amanda Waller could see a potential threat in Doctor Doom or Latveria and send Task Force X over there to investigate or cripple him in some way.  They could have bouts with his doombots before being defeating by Doctor Doom.  Justice League Dark could also come along since Doctor Doom has a proficiency with magic and reigns hell with that skill.  By having Doctor Doom in the DC universe, he would definitely be on many heroes’ watchlist.

Latveria would also receive a boost as well from Doctor Doom.  For one, Latveria is a strong country due to Doctor Doom, albeit it is oppressed because of him.  But it is a strong country that could stand among Atlantis, Themiscyra, and the similar country, Khandaq.  DC Universe is known for powerful fictional countries and Latveria would find a perfect home in the DC universe.  But being power hungry as he is, Doctor Doom could see the treasures and resources these countries have and declare war on them to claim it for himself.  Doctor Doom is not above declaring war on Asgard so these other countries would be reachable targets.  But of course, these other countries have a strong arsenal, strong military and stronger protectors themselves so it would be a cinematic even to see Doctor Doom fight Wonder Woman or Aquaman for control.  Or better yet with Black Adam.  Khandaq and Latveria aren’t too too far from each other.  But what makes that potential war more dramatic would be the fight between their rulers.  Both are similar in ruling style, ideals, and power.  Black Adam has magic and raw power while Doctor Doom has magic as well with the addition of a high intellectual to match that type of raw power.  Their fight would move mountains.

But there are other villains that Doctor Doom will have intense rivalries with.  One will be Darkseid.  If Doctor Doom were to have his eyes on the anti-life equation, Darkseid would not have any of that.  Darkseid would go on an even more aggressive warpath to claim it before Doom does. But that would also create escalation with Doom.  It would turn into a universal race that could send destructive waves throughout the universe.  That much destruction will get the interest of the Justice League and even the Green Lantern Corps.  And if the two were to clash, it would be another titanic fight.  Again, Doctor Doom would have all the means, defensives, and arsenal to compete with Darkseid.   These two have the potential to have the fight of fights.  But if there was one villain that Doctor Doom will have an intense, immortal rivalry with it will no doubt be with Lex Luthor.  Both men are highly intelligent.  Well resourced.  Well-funded. Full of hate.  Full of jealously.  And inflated with a super ego.  These two will have an everlasting war to outdo each other in all matters.  These two men have God complexes and that type of personality rubbing against each other would have consequences.  Perhaps for the whole world.  They would not rest, not be satisfied until they out perform the other.  Their egos would not allow it.  Luthor and Doom believe they are better than anyone, in fact they KNOW they are better than everyone.  But if someone else were to come along and have that same mindset, it would turn into an endless cycle of destruction to prove one’s worth.  A Lex Luthor vs Doctor Doom rivalry has the makings to be one of the best villain vs villain rivalries in comic books, something that’s rare.  It also has the potential to be one of the best rivalries in general that competes with Batman and The Joker, Superman and Lex Luthor, and Spider-Man and Green Goblin.  Doctor Doom has the ingredients to have beef with heroes and villains in the DC universe and they would be some of the greatest fights in comic books.

Doctor Doom has built a legacy in the Marvel Universe as one of the best villains in that universe.  The reasons are due to him being highly intellectual, adept in magic, cruel, determined, driven and egotistical.  This has put him on collision paths with heroes and villains.  It would be no different in a situation that puts him in the DC universe.  His rivalries with iconic heroes will make great stories.  But him rubbing elbows with just as iconic villains will put depth to those stories.  If Doom were to come to DC, all of the universe will have to confront the new threat, hero and villain alike.
