With the holiday season coming up soon, many game studios and publishers are strategically releasing their games just ahead of the gift giving. October 2025 has some massive titles being released/remastered, as well as some fan favorites from lesser-known studios and publishers. Whether you are looking for your next game to play through or trying to find a gift from friends and family, this list will cover all the anticipated game releases this October.
A few disclaimers before jumping into the list. 1) This list does not include ratings by fans and critics of each game and does not reflect how good or bad the game is upon release. 2) Not all game releases from October 2025 are included in this list – only highly anticipated ones. 3) All games are listed in alphabetical order – there is no other meaning behind the order of this list. With that out of the way, here are the October 2025 New Game Releases:
- Arc Raiders – After a very successful beta, this high stakes extraction shooter game makes players fight against other payers, as well as dangerous machines, to extract their loot, released on October 30, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
- Battlefield 6 – Massive multiplayer war scenarios, vehicle mayhem, new modern weaponry, and more, this newest edition to the Battlefield franchise is a must-have for FPS enjoying gamers and released on October 10, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
- Digimon Story: Time Stranger – Another new game in the Digimon world, this game features new and improved monster capturing and turn-based combat and released October 3, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
- Ghost of Yōtei – Released on October 2, 2025 and a PlayStation 5 exclusive, this RPG tells the story of an ancient Japanese female samurai a couple centuries after the prequel to this game, Ghost of Tsushima.
- Jurassic World Evolutions 3 – While not known for games, this third Jurassic World franchise games allows players to create their own zoo of dinosaurs, released on October 21, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
- Just Dance 2026 –Just like the name implies this new game in the Just Dance franchise has players dance to some of the most popular music of 2025, available for PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Switch. Note that this game requires a camera that is compatible with the console so that the game can track movement.
- Little Nightmares 3 – Aptly named for an October 10, 2025 release, this game is the next game in this 2-player co-op series where two friends try to escape the nightmare world they are in, available on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox, and Switch 1 and 2.
- Mina the Hollower – From the creators of the fan-favorite Shovel Knight, this 90s graphics style RPG brings players into Mina’s story as she tries to dispel a cursed island, released on October 31, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox, and Switch 1 and 2.
- Ninja Gaiden 4 – This retro game series is coming out with a modern new game with fast-paced, action-filled, hack-and-slash gaming, released on October 21, 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
- Pokémon Legends: Z-A – The second game in the Pokémon Legends series, this game take players back in time to the building of Lumiose city with new gameplay mechanics, released on October 16, 2025 for Switch 1 and 2.
- Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 – This re-release, with slightly better graphics, of these immensely popular games for the Mario franchise is exclusive Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, released on October 2, 2025, comes with both remastered Super Mario Galaxy games.
- The Outer Worlds 2 – A futuristic, but retro-looking puzzle and action-RPG, players are in for a treat with the next game in this fan-favorite sequel to the original Outer Worlds, released on October 29, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
