We are already over halfway through 2025 and the world of anime has a lot going on. Many shows have recently announced new seasons coming out and there’s a lot of hype for one particular demon related anime…In any case, let’s explore what’s dropping in the next year!
1.Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Movie
I couldn’t start this list without mentioning one of the most anticipated arcs coming up. The Infinity Castle arc is finally almost here. Japan gets its first viewing of the movie starting July 18th. For many other audiences though, us USA viewers won’t see it until September 12th. But, be rest assured that I will be seated for this. This movie will take place immediately after the events of the Hashira arc where the demon slayers fall into the castle and take on the upper rank demons. There’s reportedly going to be three movies total to finish out the rest of the series, so stay tuned for those releases!
2. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc
Chainsaw Man will finally make a return after the first season aired in 2022. This movie is set to release October 29th the U.S., as Japan will once again get their theatrical release a month earlier on September 19th. This movie will follow the events after the show, giving this arc a dedicated movie.
3. Kaiju No. 8 Season Two
Kaiju No. 8 was a smash hit when it came out early 2024. It’s already coming back this month on the 19th on Crunchyroll. This anime follows an adult named Kafka who consumes a parasite that allows him to turn into a Kaiju. He’s learning to use his powers while also being a member of the defense force, who protects people from the monsters.
4. Re: Zero – Starting Life in Another World Season Four
Arguably one of the most popular Isekais to date, Re:Zero is officially announced for a fourth season. It’s set to premiere sometime in 2026, as we continue to follow the journey of Subaru in this fantasy world. The next season is set to adapt Arc 5 and 6 from the manga.
5. Trigun Stargaze
Stargaze is the sequel/second season to Trigun Stampede, set to premiere in 2026. This season may potentially be the finale for the series, but not before further exploring Vash’s arc two and a half years after the events of Stampede.
6. My Hero Academia Final Season
After over seven years of the show airing, the beloved shonen anime is finally reaching its conclusion in October. This season will conclude the anime and Midoriya’s story, the show spanning across eight seasons total. While there’s still no official date for October, it will definitely air worldwide on Crunchyroll.
7. Spy X Family Season Three
The adorable Anya and the fake Forger family will return for the third season in October this year. It’ll be released on Crunchyroll, continuing the antics of Anya, Loid, and Yor as they perpetuate the ruse of being a family.
8. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season Two
I’m very excited for many releases on this list, but this show is one for the books. Frieren, Fern, and Stark will return to Crunchyroll in January 2026, as was recently announced. It’ll continue their journey as Frieren seeks to reunite with Himmel, furthering her understanding of humans along the way.
9. Tokyo Revengers Season Four
Takemichi and company will return in 2026 for the fourth season. It is going to adapt the Tenjiku Arc in the manga, continuing on with the story. While there’s debate on if this is the last season or not, the anime is said to be reaching the conclusion of the manga.
There’s many more that are coming out, as the anime world is always forever expanding and releasing new shows. I think this next year is stacked for great shows and movies to continue and some bittersweet conclusions as well.
