They have also optimized the controls to make navigating your inventory more intuitive. If you wishlist Palia on the Xbox Store or Playstation Store before May 11th you will contribute to the Wishlist Plush Drive, the more everyone wishlists the more rewards everyone unlocks! For the wishlist goals and the rewards, you can find them on the Palia website here. Owners of Palia DONT WORRY as long as you wishlist or download Palia during the window you will also receive the rewards.

Along with the release on PlayStation and Xbox consoles the world of Palia is getting its first HUGE expansion. On May 13th Singularity Six is welcoming you to Elderwood.

”That’s right, our little fantasy life sim adventure is about to get a whole lot bigger…”

The official Palia website describes Elderwood as “a land filled with magic where an unknown essence has spread”, there’s going to be new collectives, quests and creatures on top of the new mysteries in Elderwood. The community message from the Palia team on Steam warns that it may get spookier in the Elderwood labelled as a new “Adventure Zone” that has a “heightened sense of verticality”. The dense forest appears to be explored through climbing trees and bouncing on giant mushrooms to get an extra height boost. There are lots of nooks and crannies to find secrets in, you may also unlock a mystery, only referenced so far as ‘a magical Echo’. The trailer hints at a new character, perhaps a bad-guy being introduced. That is speculation, but there are feet in the last couple of seconds of the trailer. There is so much adventure to be had in Palia and the developers are committed to updating their game with new content for players.

The Dev Blog from Singularity Six describes Elderwood as an ‘expansive, gorgeous and potentially somewhat devious new zone’, and it will introduce new mainline quests and new gameplay elements. Whatever comes out in the May 13th update it seems it’s only the beginning for what’s coming in the long run for Elderwood. Players will know Palia is world that is rich in lore and everything in the game contributes to building the world and its history. There are so many mysteries, only half have started to be answered right now, the Dev Blog goes onto say how Elderwood and it’s story will ‘challenge player’s conceptions of Flow, the Majiri and the role humans play’. Right now we know that humans disappeared from Palia, their civilization collapsed, but humans have suddenly started to appear – This isn’t spoilers it’s literally the opening moments of the game when you make an account. I’m intrigued to see how what we discover in Elderwood changes the stories we’ve been uncovering in Kilima and Bahari so far.

On top of the big addition of an entire new area and plot points, Elderwood comes with new creatives like a ‘Shmole’, powerful relics that will contribute to a new equipment system. If you thought you’d finally upgraded all your tools, think again. Of course with a new region comes new fish, insects and PLUSHIES.

I have been following this game since it was in beta testing stage – every time I log on almost 2 years later there are more new things for me to do and new mysteries for me to solve. If you’re a returning Palia player, get yourself settled back in by May 13th, this is their biggest expansion to date. Elderwood is also not breaking the streak of all updates and expansions being FREE.

Palia is available on PC, Steam, Switch and on May 13th PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. You can download to PC directly from Singularity Six’s website.
