Deadline Confirms that Ketchup Entertainment has bought the rights to the unreleased Coyote vs Acme
To paraphrase Deadpool, “Coyote vs Acme has risen, baby girl!”
Over the past year and a half, I’ve made it my mission to cover news regarding Coyote vs Acme for TGON. If you don’t know what that is, it’s an animated live-action hybrid, legal comedy movie that was meant to release in theaters in July 2023. The movie revolves around Wile E. Coyote finally getting fed with Acme’s awful products. So, he teams up with a downtrodden lawyer played by Will Forte to sue the Acme Corporation and finally get justice. It’s a good idea for a movie, and test audiences and those in the industry who’ve seen it all think the same.
Too bad David Zaslav and the other higher-ups at Warner didn’t think so. They shelved the movie to save money without even seeing it.
Coyote vs Acme will not be silenced
Saying that fans and those inside the entertainment industry were outraged would be an understatement. People were livid at this blatant greed. Since November 2023, people have been trying to keep awareness about the film alive. However, the more time passed, the more it seemed Coyote vs Acme may never get its due. Meanwhile, things were only getting worse for the Looney Tunes as all their classic shorts got purged from Max. In addition, it was reported that the one-time home of the franchise on the Warner Studios lot would be demolished.
Just when it looked like all hope was lost, someone came in to save the day.

Last week, I wrote that Ketchup Entertainment, the distributor for The Day the Earth Blew Up, was in talks to buy Coyote vs Acme. On March 31st, Deadline confirmed that the deal was finalized. Ketchup Entertainment would be buying the rights to Coyote vs Acme and was looking to release it sometime next year.
Thank you, Ketchup-Senpai
Thank all that is good in this universe that this is happening! The Looney Tunes desperately needed a win like this under their belts!
The last few years have not been kind towards animation over at Warner Bros. The company’s decision to focus more on appealing to adults has come at the cost of alienating the people who love its kid programming. As a result, their streaming service, once touted as a home for their greatest cartoons, is a shadow of its former self. And the Looney Tunes seem to be getting the worst of it. Hence why people have been so passionate about seeing this movie get its day in theaters. Warner Bros might be willing to abandon its cartoons, but fans aren’t, myself included.
There’s no telling when Coyote vs Acme will hit theaters, but I intend to keep the promise I made. Whenever the film comes out, I will be there opening night, popcorn and snacks in hand, ready to laugh and have a good time.
