They say the weather outside is frightful this time of year. Even residents of sunny Southern California can feel the yearly chill in the air. Christmastime is around the corner, but Halloween persists to haunt the hearts of many. If you’re local to Orange County, CA, and craving Halloween horrors with a holly jolly twist, I highly recommend attending Creep It Real OC this weekend!
In September, Creep It Real OC launched its NOSTALIGIC event, drawing attention to famous 1980s horror icons like Freddy Kruger and Jason Voorhees. This weekend, Creep It Real OC brings back its iconic FESTIVE event, which sold out last year and drew over 2,000 attendees in two days. With Creep It Real OC increasing in popularity each year, co-founders, producers, and husband and wife duo Megan and Kevin Valantine established its family-friendly Creep It Real FESTIVE expo in 2022 as a Christmas-Halloween crossover event. Designed to give attendees a little more Halloween before Christmas hits, Creep It Real Festive is bound to bring a spooky sense of yule tidings to all who attend!
Co-producers of Creep It Real Festive recommend that all attendees wear closed-toed shoes and dress warm. Creep It Real OC is a RAIN OR SHINE event, so come prepared. There is a chance of rain this weekend. Street parking is available, but carpooling and ride sharing is highly recommended since parking is fairly limited. Cosplay and costumes are, of course, greatly welcome. Since real weapons are not permitted, all props are subject to inspection. Pets are also permitted, especially if they are in costume and dressed warm for the night air. Outside alcohol will be allowed on the premises, but food and drinks will be available for purchase on-site. Most vendors accept credit cards, VENMO, ZELLE, and Pay Pal. Vendors MAY offer a discount with cash. Come prepared with options to pay because there is no ATM on-site.
Set again to haunt the historic Heritage Museum of Orange County in Santa Ana, California from November 22 (4-10 PM) to November 23 (4-10 PM), Creep It Real OC founders describe the atmosphere of the venue as “the perfect blend of winter charm and frightful fun” on their official website. The Heritage Museum of Orange County has graciously hosted the Festive Expo since its debut in 2022, and with Creep It Real’s rising popularity, it will likely host for many more years to come. With over 100 spooky and spectacular vendors, live music, food trucks, and more, there will be plenty for attendees to enjoy. For instance, this weekend, attendees can anticipate musical performances by comedy duo Frankie & Igor and the Southern California-based duo No More Somedays. However, in addition to the scheduled entertainment, the Valantines have hinted that there will be surprise events throughout Friday and Saturday.
