Preview of Season Two (Three) of Clone High
Last summer, the streaming service Max had the chance to bring back the early 2000s cult cartoon Clone High twenty years after it got canceled. Created by Phil Lord and Chris Miller before they truly hit it big, the show was an animated parody of teen dramas starring clones of famous historical figures. While the show’s revival season had some people wondering if it had become like the thing that it was parodying, it was still decent, and the finale was pretty surprising.
By surprising, we mean how female lead Joan of Arc snapped and turned on all her friends and classmates in a bid to get into a college that didn’t even exist. She went back to save them from getting mind-wiped, but in return, the vengeful head of the clone project exposed what she did. Thus, Joan, who was finally enjoying being popular and having friends, is now back where she started: at the bottom of the social ladder.
Thus, we enter the chaos of a new season of Clone High, complete with a new trailer that reveals a few things that are going to happen. And despite it being labeled as “season two,” it’s very much Clone High’s season three.
Joan Back at the Bottom

Firstly, there’s the big issue from the end of last season: how Joan snapped and left all her friends and classmates to get mind-wiped. Despite her wanting nothing more than to make everyone forget about what she did, they’re not going to. However, whether that new status quo will stick all season is another matter. Given how the trailer demonstrates that she keeps interacting with the main cast, there’s a strong chance that the show’s going to pull some kind of reset button. Before that happens, though, it looks like Joan might fall in with a bad crowd.
Meet the bleacher creatures, AKA clones of some of the most frowned upon people in history: Columbus, Stalin, Mussolini, a gender-bent Jack the Ripper, and for some reason, baby Patrick Swayze and Van Gogh. Given who these people are, this could be either an interesting way to make fun of people from history that many people hate…or a joke that will get stale quickly.
Also, remember how Topher has a crush on Joan? That could spell trouble.
New Couples Forming?!?

Secondly, it would seem that the relationship fireworks that come with being a teen have not subsided. While the trailer sadly doesn’t include anything about Frida and Cleopatra, there are two big relationships that seem to stand out.
With Joan’s actions torpedoing any chance of Joan and Abe getting together for the foreseeable future, the two are moving on to other people. Abe gets a girlfriend in the form of a new character named Mary, which doesn’t narrow down whose clone she is. The biggest surprise, though, is who Joan seems to start dating: Confucius! Despite it looking like Confucius and Harriett were becoming an item, the former seems to be getting paired up with Joan. A person that he doesn’t really have any history of interacting with.
I can’t wait to see how that happened.
Same Old Scudworth

While the rest of the cast is getting into hijinks, the other big highlight of the trailer is the funniest character on the show, Principal Scudworth. Having realized that he does care about the clones at the end of last season, and even though Candide fired him, Scudworth seems to still be in charge of Clone High. This means that he continues to be the mad scientist that makes so many meme-worthy moments.
So, what’s going to happen in this next season of Clone High? The same as always: drama, monster attacks, celebrity guest stars, and chaos. I’m going to enjoy watching it.
