It has been nearly four months since the first season of the Live Action One Piece was released on Netflix. Met with immense success, just two weeks after its release, Netflix gave the series the go ahead on Season 2. This announcement was made by Eiichiro Oda, the mastermind behind the One Piece Manga and Anime, via a live action transponder snail as seen this announcement video. Within this announcement video, there was only one hint at what Season 2 has in store for fans which came near the end of the announcement – the introduction of the Straw Hat Crew’s Doctor.

Now if you have ready the manga or watched the anime, you already know who the ship’s doctor is, but if you have not, be warned that this is where the SPOILERS begin. The doctor pictured in the announcement is none other than the reindeer who ate the human-human devil fruit, Doctor Tony Tony Chopper.

Just based off this hint, we can predict what to expect in Season 2. As a reminder, Season 1 ended after the Straw Hat Crew defeated the Arlong pirates and began the voyage to the Grandline from the East Blue. The current crew members are Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, Sanji, and Nami. The Season 2 announcement allows us to predict what the season 2 timeline could look like:

  1. Still in the East Blue, the Straw Hat Crew will discover the secret of Warship Island, while also getting an inkling of what the “D” in Monkey D. Luffy’s name means and also learning about the calm belt enclosing the grandline. (Unfortunately, this arc will likely be skipped or heavily shortened to fit in the other parts of the story.)
  2. Right before entering the grandline and still in the East Blue, the Straw Hat Crew will land at Logue Town, the birth and death place of the King of the Pirates, Gold Roger (if you are up to date with the anime, you know the secret behind Gold Roger’s name, but I won’t spoil that here). In Logue Town, they will stock up for the grandline; encounter the potential main enemy from the Marines for Season 2, Smoker; fight with Buggy again; and viewers could get a glimpse of Luffy’s father. (This will like be episode 1 or 2 of the second season.)
  3. From Logue Town, the crew will begin to understand the vastness of their world when they witness the redline and the entrance to the grandline in reverse mountain. After ascending reverse mountain, they will the giant whale Laboon, who introduces that scientific prowess the grandline has to offer and has a connection to a future crewmate.
  4. Leaving Laboon behind, the Straw Hat Crew will run into Baroke Works, a large crime syndicate. This encounter will likely be the basis of the plot for Season 2. Through Baroke Works, the crew will meet a princess of a major country that is on the brink of destruction; travel to Little Garden and resolve a conflict between two giants; and run into a hiccup that will require a doctor’s help.
  5. In their search for this doctor, the crew will travel to the Drum Kingdom where they will meet the reindeer that will eventually be the crew’s doctor, Tony Tony Chopper. This is around where the season could end based on the Season 2 announcement, however, I predict this is only the mid-way point of the season.

After the Drum Kingdom, the Straw Hat Crew will have six members on their crew, Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, Nami, and Chopper. From this predicted mid-way point, the crew will help this princess (mentioned in point 4) in distress, fight with the Marines, take down Baroke works, save a country, and potential meet their seventh crew mate who was once their enemy – all of this in the second half of season 2.

I could go into more detail about my predictions regarding the second half of season 2, but I would rather leave you with this. A fan made a spin off season 2 through 10 trailer for the Live Action One Piece (it says Netflix Official, but it is not). In it, we see what future seasons will have in store for us, including (in order of what the trailer shows) the sea train and Water Seven; the knock-up stream and Skypiea; a future crewmate; an Elbath giant; the Drum Kingdom; the Thousand Sunny; Punk Hazard; the land of Wano Kuni and Onigashima; a large, blue serpent-like dragon (if you know, you know); and a Poneglyph.

My questions to you are: Of these things, what do you think we will see in Season 2? Will we ever get to a point in the Live Action where we see everything pictured in this fan trailer? Please let me know if the comments, I’d love to hear what you think.
