With the latest Mortal Kombat game, Mortal Kombat 1 being released and the first batch of DLC kharacters already being announced, fans can’t help but speculate on the next characters. While we already covered horror characters who should join the tournament, we decided to continue that trend and propose a few characters from the worlds of TV and anime…

Goku (Dragonball):

Goku is probably one of if not the most powerful anime characters around who has fought many devastating opponents, so it would be interesting to see what he does against the literal gods in the Mortal Kombat Universe.

Luffy, Zoro, Nami and Sanji (One Piece)

Like Goku, Luffy D. Monkey has taken on some pretty commanding opponents, and with the new One Piece live-action show doing so well, perhaps it is time for the future king of the pirates to join the Mortal Kombat tournament.

Luffy’s first mate, Zoro, aspires to be the greatest swordsman, but there are plenty of fighters to test himself against in Mortal Kombat. With Kenshi being confirmed for Mortal Kombat 1, we may get to see these two great swordsmen clash.

Luffy’s navigator and popular character in her own right, Nami, is one kick-ass babe who can hold her own against the likes of Sonya.

I just wanna see how Sanji’s kick-based fighting style does in Mortal Kombat.

Perhaps all the characters could be released as one DLC pack, or a couple could appear as kameos.

Kevin Mask (Ultimate Muscle)

A character from the forgotten Ultimate Muscle anime that followed a group of fictional and super-powered wrestlers. While the franchise’s main character was Kid Muscle, I feel like Kevin Mask would fit in better in the Mortal Kombat Universe.

Buffy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

While maybe not as relevant as she once was, seeing the vampire slayer take on Nitara would still be fun.

Hiro Nakamura (Heroes)

While he may not have the best hand-to-hand combat capabilities, Hiro from Heroes does have a sword and the ability to teleport and control time, so he might be able to hold his own, especially the future version of him. Sylar might also be an interesting choice.

Castiel (Supernatural)

I was thinking of one or both of the Winchester brothers, but Mortal Kombat is full of demon or demon-esque characters and not enough Angels, so Castiel could fill that role. His trench coat is also a killer outfit.

Negan (Walking Dead)

Negan could take on some of the worst/best of the Mortal Kombat universe with his trusty bat Lucille by his side.

The Mountain/ Brienne of Tarth (Game of Thrones)

Game Of Thrones – HBO

While he mainly fights with a sword, Gregor Clegane, aka the Mountain from Game of Thrones, has proven pretty proficient in hand-to-hand combat, and his undead form would fit right in with the other Mortal Kombat characters. His brother, The Hound, might also be a decent choice.

Meanwhile, Lady Brienne has proven her skill in battle, and his big form would serve her well. Arya Stark might also make a decent choice, although she would be more weapon-based.

Galadriel (Rings of Power)

This elven warrior has fought plenty of Orcs, but let’s see how she does against Tarkatans.

Worf (Star Trek):

This is kind of an out-there suggestion and unlikely, but the Klingons are a warrior race, and it would be cool to see a Bat’leth used.

Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)

This one is definitely a long shot, but it would be fun to see. While Dinn Djarin is the main Mandalorian, it might also be cool to see Bo Katan in action or perhaps even Boba Fett. Really, a good Star Wars fighting game needs to be made already.

Walker Texas Ranger or Wayne from Letterkenny

Okay, okay, these ones are primarily jokes, but it would be interesting to see. It would definitely have to be the Chuck Norris version, with Jared Palecki’s version serving as an alternate skin and maybe Wayne as a kameo.

Those are a few suggestions for anime/TV characters to include in the next Mortal Kombat. Which ones would you wanna see, and who are your picks?
