It’s finally happening, the last portion of the previous season of The Walking Dead. Forgive me if I’m pretty sad about the whole thing. I don’t want it to end, but it probably isn’t ending. It’s just evolving. After running our heroes away from their homes, Hornsby and his soldiers have been tracking down Maggie, Daryl, Aaron, and Father Gabriel. Maggie and Daryl were hiding in a building, with Aaron and Gabriel caught up, and with them was Negan and his wife! Just like the different personalities, each person had a different idea of what to do next. Gabriel thinks they should go back to the Commonwealth to get everyone and then attack Hornsby. Aaron thinks that Hornsby probably already radioed back for help and going back wouldn’t work, while Maggie wants to kill Hornsby since everyone inside and outside is in danger.

Daryl thinks that they can do it all since the Commonwealth has never seen Negan’s face. He can go right into the Commonwealth and get to and get all of our people out; Negan’s wife wants to join but insists that she needs to stay out, and he is in trouble either way. Negan and Daryl organize a plan to get Negan a vehicle so he can get to the Commonwealth. Negan uses his Whisperer skills to get behind some guards in the Commonwealth, and he kills them and sends the gun in the direction of a van, which is where Daryl is hiding. Negan heads off in the vehicle, with Hornsby following shortly after, to get into an ambush from Daryl. He can kill some soldiers before he gets behind them all to take their vehicle. Daryl uses the vehicle to stop the tail Negan acquired so that he can make it safely to the Commonwealth.

Back at the Commonwealth, the citizens are all riled up and want Sebastian for all he has done. While doing some crowd control, Mercer is called for some important business. Mercer meets Negan, who, in the interrogation room, refuses to talk to anyone else. He asked for Mercer and said he had information about April. Mercer tells his guards to leave, and they get down to business. Negan says he was sent by Daryl and that Hornsby is mowing everyone down outside, and he was sent in to keep everyone safe and get them out. Mercer said keeping people safe is his job, and Negan says, I was sent here anyway. He wants to know why he isn’t playing by the rules when nobody else is.

Hornsby was able to get word back home, and his team was looking for Carol, and they came to her apartment looking for her. Carol saw it coming, so she could hide the kids and herself. The two lackeys decide to go look at the school next for someone to sniff Carol out. Outside, in the square, Negan is taking in all the sites when Jerry notices him. Jerry is obviously confused, and Negan says he is there to save “all your asses” and asks where Carol is. Jerry takes Negan to Carol, and they catch up on what is happening, how Hornsby and company were getting to Hershel for information, and they were probably looking for the kids. Carol wants to go with Negan to find information to find Sebastian and asks Jerry to take the kids. Hornsby’s goons get a lead on Jerry and the kids, but he is able to escape and get the kids to safety ultimately.

Yumiko and Magna talk about what is happening here, how they need an exit strategy, and that everyone will get out no matter what. While they are talking, a mandatory lockdown has been initiated as a walker storm is 5 miles away. Meanwhile, Negan and Carol find some floor plans, take some time searching for Sebastian, and finally is able to track him down with thanks to the plans, he is hiding in a baggage room, peeing in glass bottles. Carol convinces him to go with her, and they can fix things. He is very reluctant but agrees. After being discovered on the way to his mother’s place, Negan stays behind to divert the mob. Carol ends up using Sebastian as leverage. She convinces Sebastian’s mother that if Sebastian didn’t do what he is accused of, someone did, and they need to stop it. She tells her what is happening with Hornsby under her name out in the wastelands. She acts shocked by the news and agrees.

Meanwhile, Rosita helps Mercer outside of the walls with the walker problem. For some reason, the outer ring didn’t do its job of stopping the walkers. Rosita tells Mercer that she is his girl if he needs help with walkers outside. If she wants something inside the walls, her daughter and family will always come first. Mercer respects that and tells her if she ever needs help getting out, he will help her. Elsewhere, Daryl and Maggie are able to lure Hornsby and his men into the sewers. They use the diversion to get Hornsby at knifepoint by Daryl.
