The “Ultimate Disney Fan Experience” D23 is the SDCC for Disney fans. The weekend consisted of panels, announcements, and exclusive looks at upcoming releases. There was a LOT announced during the seventh annual event. Let’s review everything revealed at D23!
HOCUS POCUS 2 (RELEASED 9/30 ON DISNEY+) ]

This is an exciting thing for people my age who grew up in the Halloweentown-Hocus Pocus era of Disney. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch it because of the mixed reviews. I’ll still watch it, probably on Halloween, after I watch the original. I am always behind on these kinda things – I am just now finishing up Stranger Things 4- I digress, back to business.
The movie sees the return of The Sanderson sisters to Salem after two young girls accidentally bring them back. How will they navigate the modern day? Can they be stopped again? Tune into Disney+ to watch!

DISENCHANTED (NOVEMBER 24TH, 2022, ON DISNEY+)

Ten years later, Giselle, Robert, and Morgan move from Manhattan to a new community overseen by Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph). Unfortunately, her intentions for the family are wicked. Giselle makes a wish to have a perfect fairy tale life, but the plan backfires, and she has to rush to put everything right again before midnight.
HAUNTED MANSION (AUGUST 11TH, 2023)
This is the second film to be adapted based on the theme park attraction. The film stars Rosario Dawson, a single mom to 9-year-old Chase. They are both looking to start a new life and move into a mansion that is much more than a bargain-priced house. Gabbie contacts a priest for help to rid their home of the spirits. The movie also stars LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, Winona Ryder, Dan Levy, Jared Leto, Danny DeVito, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
THE LITTLE MERMAID (MAY 26TH, 2023)

I am SO excited about this one. Though I am not concerned, it may be wrapped up in drama and controversy. I can’t wait for this one. I admit I do not know who the actress is – well, I didn’t prior to this role – but I have heard nothing but great things about her. Plus, the teaser trailer has me on edge for its release.
This live-action remake of the 1989 animated film stars Halle Bailey as Ariel.
WISH (NOVEMBER 22, 2023)
This film stars Ariana DeBosse as Princess Asha from the Kingdom of Rosas. It follows Asha and her goat Valentino (Alan Tudyk), as they meet a star and go on an adventure through the stars and various worlds to help save her homeland and its people. The release date for this movie falls on the 100th anniversary of Disney.

This live-action remake of the 1953 animated series stars Alexander Molony as Peter and Ever Anderson as Wendy. Yara Shahidi, Jim Gaffigan, Alan Tudyk, Molly Parker, and Jude Law also appear in supporting roles. There is no official release date, but some information I found said it could be in 2023 sometime.
