Summer is practically over, and that means that fall TV is coming back to our screens! With that, 9-1-1 returns on Monday, September 19th, with its 6th season. So what can viewers expect to see?

After a season of much separation and hardship, season 5 ended with the 118 all together again. The finale ended on a good note for all the characters. Hen and Karen renewed their vows, Bobby and Athena finally planned their honeymoon, and Buck put himself first by ending his relationship. Eddie returned to the 118, May enrolled in college, and Maddie returned to dispatch as well as seemed to be finding her way back to her relationship with Chimney.

In the preview, viewers see that the biggest emergency is a blimp crashing into a football stadium. This is unlike past seasons where emergencies have spanned over three episodes and included disasters like tsunamis, earthquakes, and mudslides. However, that doesn’t mean that the impact on the 118 will be any less. The preview is titled “Losing Someone Out There Is Never Easy.” In the preview, we see Buck perform compressions, and another clip shows Eddie making the sign of the cross while looking solemnly at a stretcher. We also see glimpses of Hen as captain, Chimney trapped in a speeding car, a very worried Athena shouting Bobby’s name, and Buck almost getting hit by the car that Chimney is trapped inside of.

Viewers are offered a deeper look into what the season could bring in the first look. Bobby and Athena do finally get to go on their honeymoon, while Chimney and Maddie seem to finally be crossing back into relationship status. There are also nods to other smaller emergencies that viewers will get to see. It seems like 9-1-1 is finding its way back to its old routes where fun and emotional moments were all mixed in.

The synopsis continues to just put into words what we’ve already seen through promos, that there’s a big blimp emergency. However, it does confirm that Maddie and Chimney are working on themselves and their relationship by going to couples therapy. It also says that Bobby and Athena drop May off at college and discuss what they’re going to do on their honeymoon.

9-1-1 airs every Monday starting September 19th on FOX at 8 p.m. standard eastern time. The show stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Kenneth Choi, Aisha Hinds, Ryan Guzman, Corinne Massiah, and Gavin McHugh.
