I have been in love with Keanu Reeves since Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989). Goddess, that movie is incredible. My fourteen-year-old son even enjoys the movie, which rocks. I, unfortunately, cannot say that I have seen all of Keanu’s films, but I have seen quite a few.
Aside from the Bill and Ted trilogy of movies, he has played in A Walk In The Clouds, Sweet November, Constantine, and so many others. He is definitely a star I would love to meet. He is very respectful from all the accounts I have seen and read. However, I wondered if he would give me a hug. If that happened, I would either dissolve into a giddy puddle or expire as a happy woman after the hug.
Keanu has seen his fair share of tragedy and, on the other end, has had tremendous success. Still, Keanu has remained grounded. He has several endeavors. Obviously, he is an actor, but he was also a part of the band Dogstar, of which he was the bassist. Because of his sister’s fight with leukemia, Keanu has been a supporter and helper in cancer research. He has started a foundation for research and aid. He is also a co-founder of the production company Company Films. He is also co-founder of Arch motorcycles because he loves bikes. He is also an author. He and Alexandra Grant wrote the books Ode To Happiness and Shadows together.
As you can see, Keanu is a man of many talents. My favorite of his talents is his acting. I love his movies. I already said that I fell in love with Keanu from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. I feel sorry for you if you don’t know what that movie is about. In Bill and Ted, Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) need to pass their history project or they will fail, and Ted will go to military school. To help them out, Rufus (George Carlin) gives them a time machine to pass their history report. It is quite a ride. In Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991), they die and trick Death into helping them. It turns out that Death is quite the whiner. The third in this trilogy is Bill and Ted Face The Music (2020). This one is more about their daughters than them. It is a fitting way to tie up loose ends in the movies. Though Bill and Ted coming together with their future counterparts is funny as hell.
More of my favorite movies from Keanu is Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992). He plays Jonathan Harker so well, and I think it is funny that the wedding ceremony in the movie for him and Winona actually married them. I also loved the Paula Abdul music video he was in. It was for the song Rush Rush. I loved A Walk In The Clouds and Sweet November (2001). In A Walk In The Clouds (1995), he plays Paul Sutton, a married US soldier who poses as a Mexican woman’s husband to save her from her father’s anger at an out-of-wedlock child.
I like and hate Devil’s Advocate (1997). He plays Kevin Lomax, an excellent lawyer that was offered a job at a prestigious law firm in New York City. However, he is basically working for the devil. Charlize Theron plays his wife, Mary Ann. This is not the first time they would make a movie together. In Devil’s Advocate, his acting is excellent, and the film is well done. However, there are scenes and stuff in there for me that were hard to watch, like Mary Ann’s descent into madness.
I could say that the Matrix movies are in my favorites, but they aren’t. Don’t get me wrong, they are amazing movies. All of them. They just aren’t some of my favorites. Sweet November, however, I love it, and it is another movie Charlize Theron and Keanu were in together. In Sweet November, Sara Deever (Theron) gets ejected from a test because of Nelson (Reeves), and it starts a whirlwind romance that has a sad ending.
I love The Lake House (2006). It stars Reeves obviously but also Sandra Bullock. It is a time-bending romance that will have you on the edge of your seat. 47 Ronin (2013) is incredible too. There is only a touch of romance but a whole lot of fighting, which I like. There is also magic in this. Kai (Reeves) and a band of ronin (masterless samurai) must avenger their master Lord Asano’s death after being bewitched by Lord Kira’s witch. Trust me. It’s great. The John Wick (2014, 2017, 2019) series is awesome though Constantine (2005) is my absolute favorite of his movies. In Constantine, he plays John Constantine, and he must save Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) and prevent Satan’s son from being born into our world. So sexy.
