Rise of Darth Caedus

After Jacen had returned from his odyssey, he reconnected with his old friend and fellow Jedi, Tenel Ka, now Queen of the powerful, yet isolationist, Hapes Consortium. The two would ultimately spend a night together, and, nine months later, Tenel Ka gave birth to their daughter, Allana Solo. Named in honor of her maternal grandmother, her uncle, and great-grandfather, Allana was meant to do great things in life. Greater than anyone could’ve realized, save for Jacen.

During his travels, Jacen had visions of a potential future for Allana. In one, she saw her sitting on a white throne, the Throne of Balance, as a Queen. What is the Throne of Balance? It was the seat from which the one who would oversee the Force itself would rule. In other words, Allana seemed destined to become the master of the Force; a god. There was one problem, though. In one version of the vision, Jacen saw a powerful Sith Lord sitting on the Throne instead. As if that wasn’t scary enough, Jacen was horrorifed to see Allana serving that same Dark Lord. Thus, he became determined to prevent this future by any means necessary.

Like his grandfather before him, though, Jacen would choose to find his answers in the Dark Side. After killing his aunt Mara in combat, Jacen took the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith. He was no longer Jacen Solo. Now, he was Darth Caedus.

Duel Between Siblings and Fall of Caedus.

Now a Sith Lord, Caedus sought to unite the galaxy (which had once again fractured) by any means necessary to protect his daughter. If anyone stood in his way, he would crush them, even if they were his own family. Those who knew him realized that he had to be stopped. The question was, who would do so?

Luke couldn’t bring himself to fight his nephew. He knew if he did, he’d fall into the Dark Side. Neither could Ben. He wasn’t strong enough yet, and he was mourning the death of his mother. Therefore, the task fell to Jaina. After getting trained by Boba Fett, Jaina confronted her brother, and, in an vicious duel, slew Caedus.

In truth, though, Caedus let her win. He had learned of a plot to assassinate Allana and her Mother, and was more focused on saving them than fighting his sister. As a result, when he had the chance to take her down with him, he chose to use his last moments to warn Tenel Ka, saving her and Allana’s life, leaving Jaina devastated.

Grie, Acceptance, and Moving On

Despite his death, Jacen had succeeded in doing what he set out to do. His actions would unite the galaxy in peace. More importantly, though, he prevented the dark future he once saw for Allana. But his family would be left mourning and in regret.

Jains felt guilty over killing her brother, despite knowing it needed to be done. Their parents, and Uncle Luke, felt guilty over not seeing the warning signs. When Luke was blamed for not stopping Jacen’s fall, he went into a brief exile to learn what drove Jacen to do what he did. Young Ben Skywalker joined his Dad on their trip, and the two grew closer together, while also coming to terms with what Jacen had done.

The Solos would mourn Jacen’s death, but they also felt joy in the life of his daughter, Allana. With the galaxy believing her dead, the two raised her for a time as their adoptive daughter. Eventually, though, Allana had to come out of hiding and take up role as a Hapan Princess once more.

As for Jaina, she rekindled a romance with her old sweetheart, Jagged Fel, the son of a famed Imperial Ace, and the new head of what was left of the Empire. Jagged would briefly step down from this role, though, so that the two could marry.

We don’t know what Allana’s ultimate fate was. Disney axed the EU before it could be expanded on. However, this wasn’t the end to the Skywalker bloodline.
