This upcoming release from NEOWIZ and Round8 Studio retells the story of Pinocchio. No longer is he a simple, wooden puppet with dreams and a talking cricket. In this rendition, Pinocchio is a puppet mechanoid. He has been tasked to find someone in a city once beautiful, now filled with horror.
Inspired by games such as Dark Souls, this game tasks the player with navigating a monstrous landscape in an action game set within a dark Belle Époque world. You must be careful who you trust if you can even trust anyone at all – and aim to become human somehow when humanity is mostly lost.
There are many souls-like games that have been great successes, and Lies of P has already caught the attention of many for its dark twist on a well-known story.
Other features include:
- A historical influence and stunning visuals, with scenes based on late 19th century/early 20th century Europe.
- Multiple endings that are influenced by the player’s choices and actions. Who you lie to will influence how the story ends.
- A weapon making system which allows players to customize and create weapons to play to their strengths. Combine weapons into something unique and powerful.
- A skill system influenced on what parts you add to Pinocchio. These can influence battle, as well as how you act in other parts of the world. Being a puppet, Pinocchio can mix and match different parts of himself.
