“No One’s Road Is The Same.”
Road 96 is a game set in the summer of 1996. You, the player, take a risky road trip to the border. How you get there and what you do to get there, is entirely up to you. In this game, players will meet an assortment of quirky but charming characters, each with their own stories and motivations. The adventure is always evolving, and can end in 148,268 ways. Your decisions change the people you meet, where you go, and maybe even change the country’s destiny. Which path you take is entirely up to you.
Inspired by the likes of Tarantino, The Coen Brothers, and Bong Joon-ho, the player aims to break free of the authoritarian rule and oppression, fleeing from the country of Petria. The soundtrack is filled with music inspired by the 90s. These include artists such as S U R V I V E, The Toxic Avenger, Cocoon, and Robert Parker.
The game has action and exploration, as well as human elements of sadness, happiness, and the thrill with what can happen while on the road. With hundreds and thousands of ways the journey could go, the possibilities for adventure (and for replay value) are almost endless.
Road 96 is scheduled to be released Summer 2021 on PC and Nintendo Switch. Explore more about the game yourself on the official website, and check out the trailer here:
