How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

My son Jack LOVES the How To Train Your Dragon movies so for my birthday we went and watched The Hidden World together. I can honestly say this movie is a perfect end to the movie trilogy. We laughed and we cried though Jack will tell you he didn’t. Dreamworks did fantastic with the colors and animation. It was simply beautiful.

The opening of the movie shows the team of Hiccup, Astrid, Fishlegs, Ruffnut, Tuffnut and Snotlout grown and in incredible suits made of dragon scales. They are working hard to save the dragons of the world. Their village is completely overrun with dragons and is a very colorful place coming so far from the original movie. Then comes a new, more dangerous enemy that forces them to abandon their generational home to save their way of life.

Toothless was thought to be the last night fury and that may have been true. However Hiccup and Toothless find a beautiful, white, sparkly, blue eyes fury they call a light fury. Toothless falls fast and hard. Seeing Toothless try to court her is absolutely hysterical. Hiccup is like a father trying to coach his son through this. Jack and I were rolling around laughing.

Soon the danger becomes overwhelming and everyone must choose to stay and fight or find a new home. In the midst of this both Toothless and Hiccup learn what it means to grow up and some of the pain that comes with love.

Watch How To Train Your Dragon: The Lost World in theaters now. It is fitting for both children and adults. It’s a joy to watch and ends perfectly. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Til next time…
