With ‘The Disaster Artist,’ James Franco transforms the tragicomic true-story of aspiring filmmaker and infamous Hollywood outsider Tommy Wiseau—an artist whose passion was as sincere as his methods were questionable—into a celebration of friendship, artistic expression, and dreams pursued against insurmountable odds. Based on Greg Sestero best-selling tell-all about the making of Tommy’s cult-classic disasterpiece ‘The Room’ (“The Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made”), ‘The Disaster Artist’ is a hilarious and welcome reminder that there is more than one way to become a legend—and no limit to what you can achieve when you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing. – A24 Films

The Disaster Artist is a humorous, heartwarming true story about following your dreams and friendship. This film is about the making of the film, The Room a notoriously bad film. Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.– Warner Bros. Pictures

So, this is the only none Academy Award nominated Blu-ray picked out this week. It’s safe to say it doesn’t exactly fit in but I promise it’s worth the buy if you’re a DC fan. People will roast this movie but it’s a lot of fun. It’s certainly not a perfect movie but come on its Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman on the big screen together. This film is a serious course correction and doesn’t really mesh with the previous films but let’s be real that’s comics, they retcon stuff all willy nilly when it works for the story. Shut your brain off, watch this movie and have some fun, it’s the Justice League. Henry Cavill’s mustache does look awful though, that is for real.

Special Features:

  • The Return of Superman
  • Road to Justice
  • Heart of Justice
  • Technology of the Justice League
  • Justice League: The New Heroes
  • Steppenwolf the Conqueror
  • Scene Studies: Revisiting the Amazons
  • Scene Studies: Wonder Woman’s Rescue
  • Scene Studies: Heroes Park
