Yes, you read that correctly, “hitman-slash-aspiring actor.”

In HBO’s newest comedy series Barry, the talented Bill Hader plays ex-Marine Barry who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied with his life, he reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to kill someone and gets caught up in the city’s theatre arts scene.

After watching the trailer, I’m convinced that the show, with it’s inconceivable juxtaposition of career choices, is going to be a hit. Mixing elements of dark comedy and discontent with the status quo, the show promises a familiar, uplifting message about following your heart.

Oh, and not only is Hader the star of the show, he is co-writer and co-director along with Silicon Valley‘s executive producer, Alex Berg. If you aren’t already a fan of Silicon Valley (whose newest season also premieres the same day as Barry), I highly recommend watching it while you wait for Barry to come out. If you do decide to watch it, prepare yourself for four seasons of laugh-out-loud-worthy one-liners and extremely lovable characters. Silicon Valley just gives us a good idea of the potential for greatness that Barry currently has.

Barry is set to premiere March 25th at 10:30pm. Check out the latest trailer below.
