Fans of PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds will know that Steam also features a test server, on which new and upcoming features are tested by the devs before being rolled out to the official game. Things like vaulting, new weapons, new vehicles, etc.
The most interesting item released in this test server update is definitely the replay menu. After enabling the feature, players will be able to follow themselves or other players in a 1km circle around their character, altering playback speed, camera view, and other settings in order to go over the match.
This will be an immensely useful feature for anyone from a player looking to see how an enemy got that out-of-nowhere shot, to a content creator looking back with a more cinematic eye. Check the patch notes for a full rundown of the new Replay feature.
Also gone over in the patch notes are upcoming changes to game modes in different server regions, including First-Person solo in the Oceania and South America regions.
Also upcoming is the ability to choose which map you’ll be playing on, something I’ve been griping about myself for the past week, so I’ll be very happy when that is rolled out.
If you’ve got PUBG on PC, jump back in and try out the replay feature on the test servers, and feel free to let me know what you think!
