Hope you’re ready for this episode. Buckle in and get ready for another installment of My Hero Academia!
We open up right where we left off with Asui and Tokoyami fighting Mr. Ectoplasm for their final exam. Mr. Ectoplasm spawns some clones to chase the duo but they were prepared for a fast getaway. Tokoyami used dark shadow to throw Asui and Asui grabs Tokoyami with her long tongue and use their momentum to get to the second floor. We cut to Uraraka and Midoriya watching the battle from the nurse’s office. They can’t seem to find any weakness in Tokoyami and Asui. But the nurse tells them that it will be bad for Tokoyami, but doesn’t reveal why. Back in the action, Asui and Tokoyami meet with Mr. Ectoplasm on the second floor. Tokoyami’s dark shadow sweeps through them fairly easily until one of the clones spawns behind him! Luckily Asui strikes a swift blow to the clone.

They are starting to get over run so they make their way to the third floor. Their they see a narrow hallway full of Ectoplasm clones. The nurse reveals Tokoyami is a very skilled fighter in ranged attacks but is very vulnerable up close. Asui comes in very handy with the weakness. They get to the end of the hall way and can see not only the goal in sight, but what is to be the actual Ectoplasm. Ectoplasm congratulates them for getting this far but then summons a giant clone of himself. The two try to dodge but it’s no use. They have been engulfed and cannot move. Tokoyami’s dark shadow tries to go for the goal but is busy fighting Ectoplasm himself. While they fought Tokoyami and Asui try to think of another plan. Tokoyami orders dark shadow to retreat and to use what Asui has been hiding in her stomach. Dark shadow takes a head on charge towards Ectoplasm and gets knocked back. But when we get a look at Ectoplasm we see he has handcuffs around his leg! Asui and Tokoyami passed!

We get to Iida’s and Ojiro’s match against Power Loader. He has dug himself underground with fissures layered across the field. The goal just on the other side. Iida comes up with a plan to out run the fissures and get to the goal. Power Loader was aware of this so he made some trigger earlier. Iida sees this and thinks to himself what should they do. Iida jumps up and tells Ojiro to wrap his tail around his leg. Iida proceeds to full force kick his leg and it sends Ojiro flying into the goal! They have also passed!
Up next is the duo of Momo and Todoroki. They have a very tough match up against their teacher Mr. Aizawa. The exam starts and their battleground is an urban area full of buildings. They run through an alley and Todoroki had a plan in mind. He tells Momo to use her creation quirk to just make as many small objects as possible. When she’s not able to make anymore, that means Aizawa is close. Todoroki explains the rest of his plan to Momo which mostly consisted of him battling Aizawa and Momo just running for the exit. She seems for distraught but doesn’t speak up to Todoroki, so she just continues to make tiny russian nesting dolls.
Momo starts to give Todoroki admiration on how well he can come up with a plan so quickly. He just blows it off and says it’s nothing special. But Momo sticks with it and reminds him that they both got into UA on recommendations. But the difference between them is that he has a spectacular quirk but she does not have one as good in her eyes. While they talked Todoroki noticed Momo wasn’t making nesting dolls anymore. They look up and see Aizawa hanging from above! Aizawa continues to teach them in the heat of battle that they should have reacted immediately when the dolls stopped appearing. Momo runs away but Todoroki was a step behind Aizawa. He was captured and hung from a pole. Todoroki exclaims he can just burn or freeze his restraints once Aizawa leaves. But Aizawa puts metal spikes below him so that he can’t escape no matter what. So Aizawa leaves to hunt down Momo.
Momo is still running with not much clue where the goal is. She starts over thinking her sense of direction and her abilities. Mr. Aizawa catches up and grabs her with his scarf. She notices her quirk has not been erased though! She creates a heavy weight where the restraint was and continues on her way. Aizawa hits it right on the money thinking she left all the planning to Todoroki. She’s comparing herself to Todoroki deciding that he is better than her. Aizawa has soft spot for his students and wants her to regain her confidence but now is not that time.

Momo finds Todoroki with Mr. Aizawa right on her tail. She begins to doubt herself whether she should keep running or save Todoroki. While she was breaking down Todoroki interrupts and says that he should have asked her if the plan was alright. That he will let her get them out of this. But Momo says that if his idea won’t work then there’s no way her’s will. But Todoroki tells Momo that she is suited for this kind of thing. Back when they were voting for class reps, Todoroki was one of her two votes! This undoubtedly gets Momo revved up. She throws some of the nesting dolls hidden inside her belt at Aizawa; revealing the dolls to have stun grenades inside of them! This stuns him long enough for Momo to get Todoroki free. They dash out while Aizawa gets fully recovered. Momo explains that his eyes are still a bit unstable and that they must use that for their advantage.

Momo explains that there will be a moment of time where Aizawa is blinking, and in that window they will be able to use their quirks. With one of Aizawa’s restraints coming near Todoroki, Todoroki finds the window of opportunity and blasts a giant ice wall between them! With some more time to themselves, Momo starts to create a giant roll of the same restraints Aizawa is using, but with a special material woven inside it. She creates a catapult and decides it’s time to head for the gate. Aizawa watches, waiting for any movement. suddenly he sees two big black blankets cross the street. He jumps to the scene and unveils Momo with the catapult. She launches the restraints right at him and Todoroki lets out a huge burst of flames. The restraints are made of nitinol alloy which harden to their original form in heat. They have captured Mr. Aizawa! Momo was so proud of herself and Todoroki she started she shed some tears! (So pure)
This episode was absolutely great from Asui and Tokoyami keeping calm and collected in their exam to Todoroki and Momo making it up on the fly. It shows the growth some of these characters have now that they are getting used to their quirks, it makes me feel proud for some reason? Like I watched them make these changes? I don’t know, but I am as pumped as always for next time!
