Queen Taraji P Henson has been killing it for years! From Hustle & Flow, to the Think Like A Man movies, to Empire, to Hidden Figures; she’s demonstrated an incredible range and mind-blowing raw natural talent.
The one thing that’s been mostly missing from mainstream movies has been a POC as the lead in an action movies, this is why everyone was so obsessed with Idris Elba being the next Bond (he’d be perfect, I’ll fight you). What we have even less of is women of color as action heroes. Thankfully, Taraji P. Henson is here to put an end to this bullsh*t and hopefully be the first of many new action movie badasses with Proud Mary.
