Hold onto your butts Broadway fans! It’s been recently announced that the infamous Broadway musical Wicked will be hitting the silver screen!

Rumor has it the movie will release in 2016, but Mark Platt (producer of Into The Woods) hasn’t confirmed it as the set date. Wicked follows the story of Elphaba and her unlikely friend Glinda The Good Witch. It tracks how the Witch of the West came to be and her rise to infamy.
The premiere of Wicked on Broadway happened in October of 2003, and is based off of the 1995 novel “Wicked: the life and times of the Wicked Witch of the West.” it has since brought us the incredible voices and acting abilities of Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenowith. Now, there hasn’t been word on a set cast for Wicked, but so far a fan favorite for everyone’s green heroine turned villain is Lea Michelle, who played Rachel Berry in recently ended T.V. Show Glee.
