Quite a few months ago I found an indie skin care brand called Fortune Cookie Soap Company. I was watching someone on YouTube review a Soap Box, which I will eventually do for you Nerds on their Wonderland Spring box. One of the things they do, and well, are their mini collections.
For their mid-winter collection they did a Game of Thrones collection called Winter has Come. Of this collection I bought 5 out of the 19 available items. I bought the Mother of Dragons whipped cream lotion, The Imp mist me, the Iron Islands OCD hand sanitizer, the Valyrian Steel body wash, and the What Happens Behind the Wall, Stays Behind the Wall solid bubble bath bar.
Last week, I reviewed Mother of Dragons, The Imp, The Iron Islands and now I will review The Valyrian Steel and What Happens Behind the Wall.
Valyrian Steel body wash:
It was love at first smell. Company description: We heard of a man who had a razor made of this stuff… he cut off his head trying to shave!
A blend of Italian bergamot, yuzu, fresh Meyer lemon and verbena perfectly blended with notes of olive leaf and sweet florals, finished with faint notes of patchouli, white musk, and cedar wood.
Ugh, just ugh. So amaze, such smell, much awesome. I really like their shower gels. I live in NC and generally, we don’t get too much cold weather here, the past few weeks aside. But on days where I don’t use any lotion after my shower and just the shower gel, my skin feels great. I do have normal skin, just fyi. I definitely smell the lemon/verbena, the white musk and cedar wood. I haven’t used this particular shower gel yet, because i’m already using one currently from FCS that smells like candied cherries. Shut up, so good. I highly recommend their shower gel and a little goes a long way with them.
What Happens Behind the Wall, Stays Behind the Wall solid bubble bath bar:
Another super favorite product from this company is their solid bubble bars. With every collection, I usually get a few and long for a larger tub. Company description: As soon as one man builds a wall, another immediately wants to know what’s behind it. Or pee on it. Men do that, right?
An icy mix of spearmint, menthol, woodland moss, and lemon zest with notes of lime, lavender, and fresh water.
It’s all the description says it is. It reminds me of being outside on a really clear cold crisp day, where everything smells clean and new. I like their bubble bath bars because they don’t leave my skin feeling overly oily or slick after a bath. This one was made larger so you can use it 2 to 3 times, depending on your tub size. They do make a bath melts for those with dryer skin. 🙂 I don’t really have much of anything to say on this product other than I recommend any one of their solid bubble bath bars and highly suggest you try them out. 🙂
So my overall opinion, is good. I enjoy most of the packaging and they always do a great job with their labels. I think the names of each product are funny and on point. There is definite love of GoT from this company. Let’s hope they keep it as a permanent collection. There are a lot more items in this collection that I did not pick up for various reasons. If you would like to know why, just hit me up.
