Overall I have so many things to be thankful for this year. These just happen to be the ones that came to mind first.
* My Health – 2013 has been a rough year for me health wise. I spent most of the year miserable while completing test after test for doctors. In July I was hospitalized and had emergency gallbladder surgery. Things started looking up. Now 4 months later, I am the healthiest I’ve been in years. This year has been a real test in showing me that we are not invincible and that we have to take care of ourselves.
* My Friends – My friends have been an amazing support system for me this year. I am so lucky to have such a fabulous group of people in my life. Without my friends I would be so lost, and I would have no one else to share my nerdy moments with.
*My Family – Without my family, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. They constantly have my back and I really couldn’t survive without them. While we sometimes we are absolutely insane, I couldn’t imagine my life any other way.
*My Man – Andy. His name always brings a smile to my face no matter what kind of day I am having. He’s always offering to help with TGON research or go see new movies. I’m beyond blessed to have such an amazing man in my life. He is constantly supporting me and pushing me to become a better person every day.
*TGON – I am so thankful that TGON is finally up and moving. Tyler and I had been joking about it for so long that I honestly thought it would never happen. This project has been a blessing in so many ways. We have such amazing fans that outweigh the mean crazy ones. I have an amazing CoHost, Tyler, who pushes me to see things in new ways. He is constantly teaching me the technical side of the podcast and computers. I couldn’t see myself doing this podcast with anyone else. On the other side I have my BFFL and Social Media Goddess Nicole, who recently came on TGON. I’m beyond stoked that she is here. We’ve been friends since Kindergarden so we basically function on the same insane brain wave. I love hearing her new ideas on podcasts or watching her create our new social media pages. TGON has been the best part of my year and I’m so excited to see what the new year holds for us.
On another note, I know the Thanksgiving is the beginning of the dreaded “holiday season”, but in reality it’s only one month out of the year. Remember that we are not superheros, wizards, hobbits, jedis, etc, and that we aren’t going to live forever. Enjoy the time you have with your family and friends, and cherish the little moments. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
XO Shannon
