If you’re a romantasy fan who has already finished all of the iconic novels that helped establish the genre, you’re probably longing to reconnect with those characters.
I’ve come to realize there are more ways to do that than rereading the books one too many times.
Now that romantasy has taken over modern reading culture, events and products centered around the genre are trending—and this guide is here to help you find them.
Events
Painting with a Twist Book Club
For those who aren’t familiar, Painting with a Twist is an interactive class where you get to paint and drink (BYOB—bring your own wine, in my case). Typically, they offer unique designs that aren’t tied to anything specific, but recently they’ve started including art inspired by bestselling books—many of which fall right into the BookTok/romantasy category.
Personally, I’ve gone twice with the goal of building my own little book nook with themed art. Both times were inspired by Sarah J. Maas—one featuring the mountains from A Court of Thorns and Roses and the other the glass palace from Throne of Glass.

One class I attended also included a black-and-gold dragon piece inspired by Fourth Wing, which was pretty epic—but I’m still waiting for it to show up near me again. Availability varies by location, so the easiest way to find events is through their Book Club page, where you can search locally.
Conventions
Yes—there are, in fact, romantasy-inspired conventions happening all across the U.S.
One of the biggest is Romantasy BookCon, which is set to host events in both Orlando and Los Angeles. Organized by Fabled Fantasy Events, it’s a three-day experience featuring author meet-and-greets, signings, Q&A panels—and a midnight masquerade ball to cap it all off. Honestly, they had me at masquerade ball.
Other notable events include Once Upon a Con in National Harbor, MD, and Fables & Flames Gala in Bloomington, Minnesota. Each convention brings its own lineup of authors, and while you’ll see plenty of recognizable names, the biggest ones—like Maas or Yarros—don’t always appear.
Meet the Authors
On that note, if you’re wondering when and where you might spot some of the big-name authors, I have some insight.
Sarah J. Maas
She’s arguably the most well-known author in the romantasy genre—but also the hardest to catch in person. Earlier in her career, she did a few tours here and there, but lately she’s kept a lower profile. Occasionally, she appears at virtual events, though even those are rare.
Your best chance of seeing her will be in October when the next ACOTAR installment is released. Big releases sometimes come with special ticketed events, and if she is going to appear anywhere, it will be for this.

Rebecca Yarros
The author of the unforgettable Fourth Wing series is much more active when it comes to in-person events. She pops up randomly at conventions, book tours, and reader events—so even though she isn’t yet listed to attend the larger conventions, she might decide to make a surprise appearance.
What’s awesome is that she also lists upcoming events on her website. Her next appearance will be at the “Fourth Wing Night” at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, on May 2.
In addition, she has a newsletter for fans to sign up for and stay updated on future appearances.
Jennifer L. Armentrout
Known for the Blood and Ash series, Armentrout is one of the more accessible authors to meet. She regularly attends bookstores, conventions, and fan events.
She also lists appearances on her website, although it may not always be fully up to date(currently it shows 2025 events)—so it’s worth double-checking other event pages as well.
Merchandise
Target
My top pick for those looking to find romantasy-inspired merch right now is Target. They’ve recently introduced a line of book-themed items at reasonable prices and if you haven’t already checked it out—you need to.
From books and tote bags to hats and stickers, it’s the place to go for BookTok-inspired finds—including items referencing ACOTAR, Fourth Wing, and more.
Hot Topic
Another great option if you are looking for a Velaris sweater or a dragon tee is to stop into Hot Topic the next time you are at the mall. Although, selection varies by location, so browsing online may give you a better idea of what’s available.
Sometimes you might even find some of the items on clearance, and if you do—definitely take advantage of it.
TikTok Shop
Typically, I wouldn’t usually recommend shopping directly through TikTok, although I’ve also never actually done it, so I can’t fully discourage it. But honestly, it’s hard to ignore how many romantasy-themed items are up for grabs there—many of which have decent price tags.
I would just be cautious because I’m not entirely sure if the quality will match up to what can be found at Target or Hot Topic.
Whether you’re a fan of Rhysand, Xaden Riorson, or Casteel Da’Neer, there’s a product—or experience—out there for you.
Unfortunately, they’re still fictional…so meet-and-greets aren’t exactly an option.
