The cast of Outlander made its return to SDCC and talked about the last season of the show. Not much was revealed, but there were a few snippets shared of what’s to come.

  • Droughtlander will continue until 2026.
  • Sam Heughan shared that “For Jamie and Claire, their world is about to change very differently.”
  • From the Season 8 teaser, Jamie reads in Frank’s book that he dies in battle.
  • Jamie and Claire are still dealing with the Revolutionary War.

Raya Yarbrough made an appearance and sang “The Skye Boat Song,” accompanied by bagpipes.


The prequel, Blood of My Blood debuted at Comic Con with the new stars of the show.

  • The show will premiere Aug. 8
  • The story will revolve around the love stories of Brian Fraser & Ellen MacKenzie (Jamie’s parents) and Julia Moriston & Henry Beauchamp (Claire’s parents).
  • The settings will be during the battles of WWI and the highlands of 18th-century Scotland.
  • An interesting detail is revealed: Claire was told that her parents died in a car crash. We see the crash in the trailer, but it’s revealed that Claire’s parents actually time-traveled.

Graham McTavish, who played Dougal MacKenzie on Outlander, made a surprise appearance at the panel.
