For someone who loves playing horror games but has extreme motion sickness, Pacify was both a dream and a nightmare to me. I bought the game on Steam because my friend invited me, and believe me when I tell you that I had some of the best nights of my life playing this game. Laughing until we almost pee, screaming our lungs out, and just going crazy trying to run from the ghosts. Since you’re here, you’re already thinking of buying the game or not. No worries, I’m here to share our experience with this game, and hopefully, our insights will help you make the right decision.

Where Can I Play Pacify?

Right now, you can play Pacify on Steam. It is a paid game, but it’s not that expensive. You can get it for $4.99, but it usually goes on sale, so you can get it for around $2. Not bad considering it’s a game you’ll be able to play for a significant amount of time, so you get more than what you pay for. However, when you play this game, you literally need high-speed internet. Otherwise, you’ll lag and get disconnected.

How Does the Game Work?

There are four available maps in the game: woods, farm, dolls, and headquarters. For every map (except Headquarters), you will have a specific mission, and you all need to work together to survive until you can capture the ghost and send it to the headquarters. The maximum players that can play the game is 4, and essentially, the more players there are, the easier the game will be because you’ll have all this manpower to complete the objectives much faster than having 2 players, for example.

If you get attacked by the ghost and you’re not holding any protection item, you’ll die and have your teammates do the remaining work. That’s why it’s important to survive for as long as you can, especially if you’re not a full 4-man team.

Is Pacify Worth Playing?

Yes, Pacify is a good multiplayer game that’s worth playing. It’s terrifying, entertaining, and really gives that spooky vibe that horror lovers look for. The storyline is great. You’ll easily understand the entire game, which makes it easier. The graphics are good as well. It’s not that realistic, but it’s realistic enough to scare you when it starts chasing you.

Just an important piece of advice, though, you must have a fast internet connection like Dish Internet, when you play this game. There was one time when my friend kept lagging and we couldn’t enjoy the game because we had to restart over and over again so he could join. That’s why it’s very important for you to check your internet connection before playing this game.

What Could Be Improved

One major thing that I’d hope they would do, even though I don’t think the game is active right now, is to add more maps and stories with varying difficulty. The current game has a low replay value, so if someone’s paying for it, they’d definitely consider that for sure. The next one would be the camera motion and sensitivity. For someone like me who has motion sickness, I cannot play this game for a long time. I understand that it’s supposed to be dark and all that, but I think that it can be improved.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Pacify is a great game to play with your friends, especially at night. I highly recommend you to play this over Discord because you will need to constantly communicate to complete objectives easily. If you’re planning to play by yourself, you might have a hard time looking for public rooms because I do think that there is currently a low number of players playing the game. It would be better if you joined a Discord server to find random people looking for players. Otherwise, just invite your friends and have the best time of your lives. Have fun playing!
