Paris is called many things, the City of Love, the City of Lights, or as any local and professional guide will tell you, the City of Pick Pockets.
Well for me, I find it more of a mother/daughter city because I go every year with my mother for the Paris Conservatory of Music, her alma mater’s annual concert.
But for the sake of the theme of love and the theme of my previous post on “Nerdy Places to Visit in…”, I give you some classic locations and famous films that were done or inspired by the one and only, Paris, France (not Texas or Tennessee):

The Centre Pompidou
Film: Moonraker (1979)
Roger Moore’s 007 meets with Dr. Holly Goodhead (these names, honestly) in this Paris venue. It is also the location for good creperies and popular vintage shops are in case you were interested. So now you have some more reasons to visit the area, good shopping, good food, sight seeing and historic sites!
Address: Place Georges-Pompidou, 75004, 4th arrondissement
The Louvre Pyramid
Film: The Da Vinci Code (2006)
The Louvre is a must see, with it housing some of the most famous works of art, it takes a week to see all of it. It was made famous because of Leonardo Di Vinci’s Mona Lisa when it was stolen in 1911 and even more famous after Dan Brown’s book and then the film was released in 2003. The film starring Tom Hanks filmed right outside and it is where you can get tickets.
Local Tip: it is faster if you go downstairs in the metro area, there is a mall underneath the Louvre metro stop and another ticket stand that many tourists don’t know about. Trust me, you will get into the museum a lot faster than if you go through the Pyramid.
Address: 75001 Paris, France, 1st Arrondissement
Moulin Rouge
Film: Moulin Rouge (2001)
While filmed in Australia, the writer and director Baz Luhrmann did do his research after being inspired and charmed by the real-life location in the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris. He took from its history, cabaret scenes, artists, and transported us to the turn of the 19th century and arguably brought back the musical back to our big screens.
Address: 82 Bd de Clichy, 75018, 18th Arrondissemont
There are plenty of other locations which I will share in another post at another time but here is a good list to start from in your trip to Paris!
