Coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet is a special case for your Rotom Phone! Use the passwords SBOOKCOVER and VBOOKCOVER in their respective games for new colors of phone cases. A New Announcement: Pokémon Champions
It’s a new game coming to the “Nintendo Switch family of systems” which I’m taking as Switch and Switch 2 and to mobile. I’m happy to see the crossover between console and mobile for Pokemon, it’s actually a smart move from them considering Pokémon’s success on mobile. Champions looks like a Pokemon Stadium game, they seem to be prioritising online play. Hence the cross platform). Graphically, from the trailer it actually looks really good. It’s a battle-focused game to go along side the core games, with the same battle style from the core games. It’s focus appears to be playing online between friends and the public, whether or not there is a single player campaign is yet to be seen. It links to Pokémon Home so of course you can bring in your favourites from across the franchise.

Pokémon Z-A
Pokémon Legends Z-A was announced this time last year on Pokémon Day. As a huge fan of Legends Arceus, I am happy to see the Legends series becoming what they intended. For years now Pokémon fans and poke-casuals like myself have been asking Game Freak to slow down and spend more time on a game, new games have longer development cycles. That’s okay. It makes great games. Thankfully, they seem to be listening. Slated for later this year, Legends Z-A is lining up to set the Poké standard.
Quick reminder: Legends Z-A is set in Lumiose City, from the 3DS games Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. The Kalos region is based on France and is the sixth generation of Pokémon and their games. Lumiose City is on the verge of a techno-revolution, you arrive to see the new sites, but after choosing your starter Pokemon from Tepig, Totodile and Chikorita, you can explore the city and how it is growing to become a City where people and Pokemon can live happily together. Mega Evolutions are also back, on top of some fun new battling mechanics that allow you to move, dodge and help your Pokémon in the battles. The graphics look good, many of us have come out of the last couple of generations being upset about the appearance. I am not bothered about realistic art styles or anything like that – BUT, when it is the graphics that are making the game borderline unplayable, it’s not it. The bits of gameplay in the trailer looks pretty and smooth despite YouTube’s compression
I am also happy to see that Pokémon is getting translated into South American languages. I didn’t know they weren’t up until this point – I just assumed they were (like the silly native English speaker that I am). Legends Z-A is going to be the first game released with South American languages included. I am always happy to see increased accessibility in games, especially from big companies like the Pokémon Company who have the capacity to make their games accessible to more people.
Legends Z-A – Katie’s Random Predictions
My usual disclaimer: This is just speculation and some unrealistic dreams.
The game is really promoting that Lumiose City is becoming a place where people and Pokémon live together and accommodate each other like with the ‘wild spaces’ around the City. They seem to be big nature parks in the city where wild Pokémon can live. Looking at the wider story which we still know nothing about, I wonder if the story will have us helping to integrate Pokémon and humans together. Arceus had a couple of quests where you found a Pokémon to help with certain jobs in the village, I’m imagining that on a larger scale.
What do you want to see from Legends Z-A?
Are there any other announcements you were excited to see?
I’m off to open new packs in Pokémon TBC Pocket.
