I’m sure by now everyone has heard that our favourite soap is being taken away from us again. It’s gutting, but the fact that the word “resting” has been used by producers, rather than “cancelled”, gives me a little hope that someone might snap it up. Let’s all hope for the best!
For now it’s business as usual, so let’s get on with rounding up last week’s Neighbours episodes.
Fallon’s Got a Big Mouth
Krista’s grumpy sister doesn’t exactly cover herself in glory with the way she handles herself this week. She’s absolutely convinced that Krista has feelings for Seb, and that’s why she hasn’t told Leo that he kissed her. When a letter from Seb arrives for Krista, Fallon can’t help herself from snooping, but unfortunately Krista catches her in the act.
Krista is furious at first, but then backs down extremely quickly when Fallon pretends she is just concerned about her, and can tell there’s more to the story than what Krista has told her. They have a conversation about Seb where Krista makes some ambiguous statements about there being some unresolved feelings she still needs to deal with, and Fallon gets an even firmer hold on the wrong end of the stick.
Krista tells Fallon that she’s finally going to talk to Leo about what happened between her and Seb, so when Fallon and Leo are working together at the vineyard later, she assumes the conversation went ahead, and drops Krista in it. I have no idea why she’d have thought that Krista had told Leo, because he was excitedly parping on about their upcoming wedding – he certainly wasn’t acting like a man who just found out his future wife just kissed someone else.
It turns out that the letter from Seb brought up the fact that Leo can be quite controlling, and makes decisions for Krista based on what he thinks is best for her. We all know where he gets that from – I’m looking at you, Paul.
Krista and Leo talk things over, and it seems Fallon’s plan to wreak havoc on her sister’s life hasn’t quite worked out this time.

Remi Is Suspicious of Cara
Cara is absolutely hopeless at subterfuge, and it’s all pointless anyway, so I really don’t know why she’s bothering.
After Cara saw Chelsea at the airport and made a bit of a mess of the interaction, Nicolette overhears her making phone calls about Chelsea’s whereabouts, and Cara confides in her. The two then team up to try to track Chelsea down.
Cara realises that Chelsea might have gone to their cousin, Maddie, for help with the delivery of her baby, as she is a midwife, so the budding detectives go to Maddie’s to see if she’ll tell them anything. She’s tight-lipped, but after her and Nicolette hook up, Nicolette finds a thank you present to Maddie from Chelsea, and after that she spills the beans and admits that she helped deliver the baby.
Nicolette doesn’t seem to feel that guilty about her subterfuge, and it seems Maddie doesn’t have any hard feelings, as she comes looking for Nicolette later. Nic is keen to see her again, but Cara asks her not to because of the risk of Remi finding out what’s been going on.
This aspect of the storyline is baffling me somewhat. I don’t know why Cara didn’t just tell Remi straight away that she saw Chelsea and that she was trying to track her down. Instead she’s kept it as a big secret, telling Remi lie after lie, and Remi isn’t daft – she knows something weird is going on.
Remi gets one step closer to finding out what’s happening after she sees Maddie talking to Nicolette at Harold’s, forcing Cara, Nicolette and Maddie to all lie even more. This is all going to backfire spectacularly and Remi is going to be really hurt that Cara has been lying to her, and it all could have been avoided if she’d have just had a conversation with Remi after the encounter in the airport. It’s silly.

Roxy’s Back
Terese needs some help at Eirini Rising, and for some reason she turns to Roxy, who used to be a waitress and barmaid, so I’m not entirely sure what makes her qualified to help run a retirement home. It’s fun for Roxy to be back though.
She hasn’t hit it off that well with Holly straight away, but I get the feeling that there’s going to be chaos with those two. They’re either going to be best friends or mortal enemies, but either way sparks are going to fly and I can’t wait to see it.
I was like the meme of that lady trying to do maths when Max said he and Roxy were cousins. I’m there now, but it took me a while to figure out how these two are related. I have a feeling Roxy is going to get heavily involved with what Max has got going on, as she’s probably going to want to try to protect her little cousin.

Holly Hustles
Holly goes for the job at the piano bar, but gets beaten to it by Taye. She decides the best course of action is to take him a wheel of cheese and ask him to give up the job so she can have it, which is one of the most bizarre approaches to employment I’ve come across. Why the heck should he give up the job? And why would she think some cheese would be the thing to swing it?
Instead, she ends up working a trial shift at The Water Hole, because for some reason she seems to only want to work within a very small geographical area, rather than branching out to the numerous other bars and restaurants that must be nearby. That must be a very, very narrow search when she looks on Indeed for jobs.
Jane’s in Trouble
Here’s another situation that could have been entirely drama-free had everyone just behaved like normal humans from the outset. Jane decided that, even though it didn’t break any rules, she couldn’t possibly date the school cleaner openly due to it being so inappropriate, but instead has been having sex with him at his place of work, keeping the residents of Eirini Rising awake and sprinkling used condoms around like confetti.
The thefts of the school’s and Eirini Rising’s cleaning products are still happening, and after Jasmine is seen leaving the complex late at night, suspicion falls on her, but it turns out she’s just helping the old people gamble. In her indignation at being accused of being a thief, Jasmine blurts out that she saw Jane kissing Clint on school property.
Jane’s entire house of cards comes tumbling down, as Terese realises who the mystery shaggers in room 304 were, and Jane finds herself on the brink of public humiliation, although she clearly doesn’t feel embarrassment like I do, as she describes Clint as her “lover” when she tells Byron and Nicolette about it all. The word “lover” absolutely sends me sideways, especially when talking to your kids.
Since Jasmine was excluded as the thief, all eyes are on Clint as the next potential suspect, and Jane defends him, but this is a massive conflict of interests. It probably wouldn’t have been had she declared the relationship to start with, nor would he have been fired if they’d have just hooked up at her house instead of doing it at his workplace. But they didn’t do that, and so Jane is now suspended pending a further enquiry. What a ridiculous mess.
By the way, for what it’s worth I reckon it’s Vera stealing the expensive cleaning products. It just seems like a Vera thing to do.

A Few Random Notes
As usual, here are a few random notes I took while watching Neighbours this week:
- Nicolette’s blue zebra stripe leggings are almost as hideous as the green patchwork coat.
- Why can nobody read Fallon’s grumpy body language? She hates you all!
- Nicolette flinging the coffee was hilarious.
- Oooh! The gambling child has outed Jane!
- It took Terese far too long to work out that it was Jane and Clint using the empty apartment to hook up.
- “Tell me everything Mum!” Nicolette, noooo! Why would you want details of your mum’s sex life?
