In a somewhat interesting turn of events, several huge gaming industry giants are releasing new games, and they all happen to be coming out in February. While releasing games is not newsworthy, the sheer number of releases is worth mentioning. That is not to mention that these types of massive releases are generally planned for the end of the year when holidays and gift giving are in season, not the beginning of the year. However, given the huge losses that these gaming industry companies experienced in 2024, they could be trying to regain their fans trust by releasing games more consistently and earlier in the year.

This post will go over all the February 2025 game releases from gaming industry giants. The list will include release dates, publishing companies, and a quick summary of the genre and plot of each game. It will not include reviews or community perspectives of these games. If you are interested in any of the games mentioned here, I would highly recommend doing your own research and looking over player reviews of the game before making a purchase. Now, here (based on release date) are the new games as of February 2025:

Monster Hunter Wilds

Yu-Gi-Oh! EARLY DAYS COLLECTION
Publisher: KONAMI
Release: February 27, 2025

Bringing the classic Yu-Gi-Oh cards back to life, this retro style strategy card-game RPG allows players to follow the plot of the original Yu-Gi-Oh anime. Players can follow the story or duel other players online using all the original card sets that came out no later than 2005.

Releases like this from gaming industry giants in a month like February are uncommon, but fans are in for a treat in 2025. A few honorable mentions:

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, released on January 30, 2025, did not make this list because it was released very late in January.
  • Tomb Raider IV, V, and VI Remastered, released on February 14, 2025, did not make this list because they are not technically new games, they are remastered versions of the original games.
  • This list does not include a Pokémon game, but there is a good chance that a new Pokémon game is released, or at least announced, on Pokémon day (February 27).

If this release cadence continues throughout 2025, gamers will have no shortage of games to be excited about.
