The PlayStation 2024 State of Play broadcasted on Thursday, May 30th, showing off upcoming releases for both PlayStation and PC ports. Below is a list of some of the largest announcements from this year’s Playstation State of Play!
Astro Bot

Playstation’s lovable robot Astro is receiving another super-sized space adventure! Making his first appearance in Astro’s Playroom, Astro will be returning to the PS5 console for another adventure that will be his biggest to date.
With six galaxies and over eighty levels to explore, you’ll help Astro find his scattered crew. The game will take advantage of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to add immersion to the game.
Astro Bot is set to release to the PS5 console on September 6th with Pre-Orders being available starting June 7th.
Concord

Concord is a 5v5 character-driven, first-person multiplayer shooter from Firewalk Studios. Players will fill the role of a Freegunner, a group of guns-for-fire. Each character has their own set of unique abilities and weapons to bring to the battlefield, similar to Overwatch. However, the gunplay itself seems more akin to Call of Duty or Destiny.
“While our core gunplay will feel familiar to shooter fans, the versatility and variety of each Freegunner and their abilities makes it so aim and thumb skill alone aren’t always enough to come out on top,” said Firewalk Studios Game Director Ryan Ellis.
Concord will launch on PS5 and PC on August 23rd and an early access is planned for later this summer.
God of War Ragnarok PC

Santa Monica Studio in partnership with Jetpack Interactive will be bringing God of War Ragnarok to PC on September 19, 2024.
Relive the epic journey that follows Kratos and Atreus’ struggle with holding on and letting go of the past. Optimized for PC, the port will have unlocked frame rates and optional 4K resolution (requires compatible PC and 4K device). It also will feature 21:9 ultra-widescreen and 32:9 super ultra-widescreen supports for compatible monitors. Additionally, the Valhalla DLC will be included with the game as well as a New Game+ mode.
Pre-purchasing the standard or Digital Deluxe Edition of the game on Steam or the Epic Game Store before September will give access to the Kratos Risen Snow Armor and the Atreaus Risen Snow Tunic cosmetic items.
Until Dawn Remake

Supermassive Game’s horror classic Until Dawn is receiving a remake for the PS5 and PC. One year after their friends vanished at a lonely lodge, eight young adults returned for a weekend that promised to be full of partying and reminiscing about the past. What starts off as a calm evening turns into a living nightmare.
With this remake, Supermassive Games has opted for a third-person camera perspective as opposed to the fixed camera of the original. This, along with the optimized performance and updated graphics, will help to immerse players in this classic horror experience.
Silent Hill 2 Remake

The Silent Hill 2 remake is set to release on October 8th, 2024. A thirteen-minute gameplay video of the remake was shown at the State of Play, bringing fans back into the terrifying world of Silent Hill.
“Since our first announcement in 2022, we have been met with passionate expectations from fans across the globe,” said Konami Producer Motoi Okamoto. “In order to meet such high expectations, we have taken ample polishing time and carefully decided on when we would be able to deliver the game with confidence.”
Built from the ground up, the game will be a familiar and fresh take on Silent Hill 2’s story. Some settings of major events throughout the game are different, but overall the impact on the story remains the same.
There will be some new locations introduced as well, however, the original locations are the main focus. Due to creative and technical factors, the original voices were not able to be used in the remake. Instead, new voice lines with a new cast were recorded for the game.
