These six episode sprints are fun as they are action packed, but the downside to that has turned it’s ugly head this week in a big way after a short example last week. The new characters come and then go so fast they are making it that you shouldn’t even bother to get connected to them. It’s too bad too because Nat was able to steal the show this episode before he met his end.
As I’ve essentially started with the end of the group of characters we will run through the first three quarters of the episode fairly quickly. Michonne talks with the leader of the large group, the group turns out to be an always moving caravan of people, but they don’t stop for anything or anyone which sets Michonne apart from the beginning. The leader wants to try to recruit Michonne to the caravan but Michonne wants to go on her way, the groups do it all handyman offers Michonne a horse, armor, and some weapons for saving his friends.

The next morning against everyone’s suggestions she goes on her suicide mission north against the five mile long gathering of the “wailing” from the tri-state area. They seem to migrate in that area this time of year and she is told in about a months time they will disperse again making travel possible. But she is too stubborn and tries to use her scream sticks she was equipped with to cut a path with the help of a gas man walker, she is immediately hit with a head exploded off a walker. Luckily for her Nat knows things and him, the two people she saved and a few others were tired of the caravan ways and came to help Michonne,at this time with some purple flame on both sides which spread the hoard down the middle.
Michonne tells them they can go to Alexandria, and they can even go without her and she will tell them what to say, but everyone wants to help her get Rick before heading to Alexandria. Not sure how long they were traveling north until they got into a large town when a helicopter came across them, turned around, pivoted, and dropped some chlorine gas bombs on them. The show pays homage to Dawn of the Dead, the 2004 zombie movie where people end up in a mall, where eventually a pregnant lady dies and a lot of people inside die. In the end only Nat and Michonne survive the attacks, but they are very weak and can’t breathe well. By the montage of time and seasons from the skylight it seems that it takes them nearly a year to get enough strength to continue the journey.

Bridgers Terminal was a dead end, with a destroyed “safe harbor” cruise ship, and a pile of burned bodies.Michonne takes time to try to look through the rubble but isn’t able to find any signs of Rick. It takes some time, but Nat convinces Michonne that she can do both, believing that Rick is still alive out there, but also be at home with her children without Rick. She accepts that she needs to be there for her family and they start the trek home.
Walking back they see a low flying helicopter, Nat asks Michonne to get the wagon of supplies from the walker mule as he has a plan to take down the helicopter. He has an arm projectile weapon which is the projectiles we saw from Rick’s view at the end of episode one. The first was a dude that went through Okafor, and the next two took down the chopper. Michonne goes on ahead to kill the soldiers if Nat doesn’t get to them first. She kills the two before she sees Rick, they embrace, and kiss, and answer some simple questions when Nat arrives and asks Michonne if that is him. Almost immediately after he is shot by one of the CRM members in a last gasp moment, Michonne goes to him and he asks if it is still him, can she tell, which Michonne says it is, and Nat smiles and says you know when to go and passes.
Rick tells Michonne the others are coming, that they can’t leave, she needs to hide who she is, a leader, she needs to change her name, and not to call the walkers the walkers because he called them that. In interrogation she refers to herself as Dana, her weapon of choice was a Bow Staff, she was a part of a small community and was on her own for awhile. She is able to convince them and makes her way inside the CRM, Rick pulls her aside and talks with her a bit more, says they can’t escape and they can’t defeat the CRM right now but they will find a way together. After the secret meeting Michonne sneaks to high ground and sees all of the machinery that the CRM has, while flicking the lighter Rick gave her of Nat’s. We know Michonne’s processing something heavy.

Meanwhile, Jadis saw the interview tape of Michonne and pays Rick a visit. Tells him that if they try to leave she will have to destroy them and everyone they love at Alexandria, including some people she likes a lot. She says if anyone was able to find him it would have been her, that they have certain secrets they keep from the CRM but this isn’t a part of their original deal and she wants to know what in the *** Rick is doing.
The later episodes became more and more interesting, and I watched them without missing any episodes.
