It’s here! Emerald City Comic Con’s 2024 show is rearing to go, and all of us fans are ready to explore the show floors and panels. But let’s not forget that ECCC has organized a host of other activities to enjoy during the con. Whether you need a pick-me-up, a family-friendly space for your kiddos, or some extra fun after the doors have closed for the day, ECCC has your back. Below are just a few of the events, but check out the full list of Show Features to see what excites you most!
This year’s annual After Dark event will surely be everything you wish your last high school senior dance was. You’re invited to attend the Emerald City Comic Con Prom on Saturday night! The prom will be a “celestial soiree” with an Under the Stars theme, but rock whatever nerdy attire you’ll feel your best in. You never know which dashing character will ask you for a dance! This event is held from 9pm-11pm on March 2nd at the Level 5 Main Stage of the Summit Building.
In Cosplay Central, you’ll find workshops, fandom photo meetups, fun backdrops to show off your costume, and more! Cosplay enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to check out the many facets of fun, including Cosplay Central Crown Championships 2024 at the Main Stage on Saturday, Mar 2, 2024, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM.

Feeling a little parched or peaky during your con adventures? Check out this anime-inspired cafe for food and drinks served by Maids while enjoying live performances and photo-ops among other entertainment. It’s sure to be an experience from your kawaii dreams! You can find the Dreamland Maid Cafe in the Summit Building – Rooms 437-43 all four days of the convention during limited hours.
Pride Lounge Presented by FREE2LUV
Conventions can be exhausting. There are lots of people, everything is too loud all at once, and your attention is pulled in ten different directions at any given second. We all need a break and that’s okay! FREE2LUV is a national non-profit that specializes in helping youth challenged by issues like identity, mental health, and self-harm. It has organized a safe space to hang out and recharge, complete with giveaways and interactive projects. And remember, you don’t have to be part of the LGBTQ+ community to chill with the crowd! This is a safe space if you need a break, and you’ll probably catch me there throughout the weekend. This can be found in the Summit Building rooms 427, 428 and 429.

ECCC wouldn’t be complete without its mini fans or Family HQ! Parents can help their children explore their creativity and enjoy activities like creating their own comics or superheroes, and sword sparring with Oom Yung Doe Martial Arts. You’ll find these events at the Family HQ Workshop or Interactive Spaces all four days of the convention.
Whether wearing cosplay or not, every fan has to make new friends with similar interests! Find yourself a fan meetup for your favorite fandom and geek out with photos and enthusiastic conversations. With the heavy Twilight cast lineup in this year’s celebrity guests, be sure to check out the Twilight Fan Meetup on Sunday! Meetups take place at various places and times throughout the convention weekend, so double-check the schedule to make sure you know where to go.
TGON is so excited to be back at ECCC! If you catch our logo on a t-shirt in any of these areas (or anywhere else in the building!), be sure to stop us so we can snap a pic of your epic cosplays. See you soon, nerds!
