Partnered with Ubisoft, Archie Comics, Crunchyroll, and more, WEBTOON will host an array of panels, offer exclusive NYCC x WEBTOON merch, and showcase original creators. Creators and executives from WEBTOON, Wattpad WEBTOON Studios, and their imprint WEBTOON Unscrolled will appear on a variety of panels this week, including the Lore Olympus creator Rachel Smythe, who was also present during San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year. If you’re a Lore Olympus fan like me, keep reading!
According to her social media, Symthe will host signings this Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at individual times. As part of the signing, she will offer fans an NYCC exclusive signing stamp featuring her male lead, Hades, whereas the SDCC stamp featured her female lead, Persephone! Signings, including a standard hardcover edition of Lore Olympus: Volume 5, will be ticketed, so get your ticket ahead of time. Smythe will also be a part of three individual panels that are free and open to all attendees! You can find specific information regarding her panels and signings here!
If you’re also a massive comic book fan and interested in a chance to win free signed graphic novels and swag by attending creators and authors Bella Higgin (Belle Morte), LambCat (Cursed Princess Club), Meredith Moriarty (Third Shift Society), and Katarina E. Tonks (Death Is My BFF), be first in line at the Wattpad WEBTOON Studios booth (#3426)! Free copies will be available to the first fifty people in line! The Wattpad WEBTOON Studios booth will also host a comics portfolio review this Friday with Moriarty and a cosplay contest (judged by LambCat) this Sunday.
As part of their collaboration, Ubisoft and WEBTOON will be distributing convention-exclusive pin sets to any attendees who have read the first five episodes of the original Assassin’s Creed: Forgotten Temple | WEBTOON webcomic (only available on WEBTOON). Attendees who have read the first five episodes can pick up their FREE pin sets at the NYCC merch booth (Booth #4103) for a limited time. Get a sneak peek at the pin assortments and other merch here! If you are not attending the convention, I recommend reading the webcomic and seeing the hype! If you love Assassin’s Creed, you will love this creative look at the infamous Edward Kenway! Embrace the adventure!
Meanwhile, in Artist Alley, you will find the sci-fi original creator of City of Blank (which updates every Thursday) and the drama original creator of #Blessed (which is currently on hiatus). If you want to support these original creators, find them!
