Attention, SoCal residents and readers! ANIME Impulse is returning to Orange County for September 2-3, 2023, at the Anaheim Convention Center from 11 AM-8 PM to conclude its 2023 con tour. From Los Angeles in January, San Diego in March, to the Bay Area in July, ANIME Impulse concludes its 2023 con tour in Orange County, California. As a weekend celebration of all things anime, ANIME Impulse will include a wide range of vendors, artists, and special guests that range from voice actors to cosplayers, influencers, and streamers. Amongst the special guests are internet celebrity and YouTube animator Emirichu, comedian and YouTube animator Daidus, voiceover artist Amber May, voice actress and writer Shara Kirby, and many more famous faces. On a personal note, I am hyped to meet Emirichu and attend her Saturday 2 PM panel: Anime Cafes in Japan. Learn more about anime cafes in Japan from the expert herself, and join in on the fun this weekend! Emirichu will provide tips and tricks you can’t find in her videos!
What started as a small convention in 2016, ANIME Impulse has become a hub for all nerds and okatus alike! With nonstop entertainment on its mainstage and a nearly endless supply of tasty treats from food trucks and booths, ANIME Impulse aims “to provide casual fans and okatus with a venue to gather and indulge in fandom.” This year, ANIME Impulse will house its most enormous Vendor Hall and Artist Alley since its debut in 2016, so expect to meet and greet many artists, merchants, and creators! Admission for Saturday costs $30, and Sunday costs $20. In contrast, a ticket for the whole weekend is $40, so I recommend purchasing a ticket for the entire event if you have time to attend every day and want to be cost-efficient! If you can only attend one day, I recommend Sunday for those who prefer slower traffic. Plus, a pass for ANIME Impulse will grant you access to the first-ever fan-hosted K-POP festival, K-PLAY! Fest, AND access to Sneaker Expo 2023! For the purchase of one ANIME Impulse ticket, you will get access to all three events this weekend! That’s three courses of individual fun for the price of one!
