TGON Bakes: Angry Birds Cupcakes



240ml milk
230gr butter softened
400gr sugar
420gr cake flour
4 eggs
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt

Vanilla Buttercream
230gr butter softened
115gr shortening
450gr powdered sugar
2 – 3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pre-made fondant in white, red, blue, green, black and yellow


How to bake

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F/ 177°C.
2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a mixer.
3. Mix until the mixture is light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs, one at a time, until all are incorporated.
5. Sift together the cake flour, baking powder and salt.
6. Add the vanilla extract to the milk.
7. Alternate adding the milk and sifted flour mixture to the mixer until it is all incorporated.
8. Mix the batter until smooth.
9. Scoop the batter in cupcake liners.
10. Bake the cupcakes for 25-30 minutes.
11. After the cupcakes are completely cooled, mix the softened butter and shortening together in a mixer.
12. Add the powdered sugar, and a little milk at a time until the icing is moveable. 13. Mix on high speed until the icing is light and fluffy.
14. Ice the cupcakes.
15. Then roll out the fondant and cut to make birds, eyes, pupils, and pigs’ snouts.
16. Use a carving knife to make eyebrows, beaks, and feathers.
17. For snouts, use a pupil and squeeze it into an oval shape.
18. Attach the pieces together with a touch of buttercream icing.
