We are already on the third episode of My Hero and the story is really starting to get into full swing! We had lots of questions when Season 2 ended, but in only these last two episodes, it’s created even more questions than answers. Not to mention the wait between weeks is almost unbearable. But for now, let’s get into episode 3!
We actually open up this episode with Class B and their teacher, Pro Hero Vlad King. This is what I was most excited about this season, potentially getting to know Class B and their students a little better. They are all up at the break of dawn getting ready to work on their individual quirks alongside Class A. Vlad King explains that Class A was always in the spotlight last semester and you can tell that really affects him and he might think that says something about his teaching. He wants his class to snatch that spotlight by force, and to aim for the top. Class B is disappointed for letting their teacher down, but also wonder how they can get better. Vlad King explains that quirks are like muscles; after a rough workout, you tear up your muscle fibers so that they can grow even bigger and stronger. They find themselves at the training grounds, standing in awe as Class 1-A has already began training.
We get a run down of how everyone is training to strengthen their quirks, narrated by the one and only Present Mic. Bakugo is submerging his hands in water to expand his sweat glands and create chain explosions. Todoroki is also submerging himself in water and using his fire and ice to its full capabilities to not only regulate his temperature, but also getting comfortable using both simultaneously! Sero has been put up to the duty of continually producing tape from his arms without stopping to really test his limits. Kirashima and Ojiro and sparring one another to strengthen Kirashima’s harden and strengthen Ojiro’s tail. Kaminari has been hooked up to a very high capacity battery so that he might be able to control even higher amounts of voltage.
Koda has been sent very faraway and must try to use his Anivoice from very long distance to get the attention of animals. Aoyama is sending naval blasts one after another to try to work up his stamina and fight of the tummy aches he usually gets. Tokoyami has been sent into a very dark cave and is trying to learn to control Dark Shadow, even when he is at his most unstable in the dark. Uraraka is trying to get her inner ear canal used to zero gravity so that she can be comfortable using her quirk on herself, while also training to be able to lift heavier things. Iida has been circling the entire training grounds to build up leg strength and stamina. Tsu is rock climbing to build up the muscles in her body, but also using her tongue to take full advantage of the workout. Sato and Momo and both at a table eating sweets. Sato to build up muscle while using his quirk, and Momo to help use her creation quirk faster because of the use of her lipids in her body.
Class B is in absolute awe in what training is in store for them. Aizawa turns to them and tells them there will be a lot of work to do. We also are introduced to the last two members of the Wild Wild Pussycats. We meet Ragdoll who’s quirk is called search. She’s able to look at up to 100 people and be able to tell their locations and weakness. And we also meet Tiger who has the quirk Pliabody. He is able to stretch and flatten his body like elastic. He has been working with Midoriya for strength training and has been sending all the power Midoriya throws at him right back to him. Midoriya is exhausted but he remembers how lucky he is to be granted this quirk and how far he has come to improve it. So he is not giving up! As they trained, Kota hangs out in the trees, observing carefully.
It’s dinnertime and like the Pussycats said the first night, they will not be helping with cooking meals. They gave the classes the ingredients for curry and sent them on their way. Together, they work together to make food for everyone. Todoroki is able to heat up the pots with his fire while Momo creates lighters. Bakugo certainly tries to help with his explosions but isn’t keen on using quirk for such a menial task. They all get settled in at the dining area having fun, enjoying everyone’s company. Kota though, is observing from a far and begins to walk in the woods. Midoriya notices this and follows him close behind. He finds Kota near a cave, gazing at the stars. Midoriya says that he brought him food but Kota retorts violently. Tells Midoriya that all he does is show off his quirk like the rest of the heroes and villains. Midoriya makes mention of Kota’s parents and how tragic their death was. Kota states that he’s sick of people calling each other hero and villain and killing each other because of it.
Midoriya starts to tell Kota about a “friend” that he knows very well that didn’t inherit any quirks from his parents. That he admired heroes so much, but do to not having a quirk, he would not be accepted. Midoriya then starts to preach that it’s unfair to reject them completely and Kota was not fond of that. Todoroki later tells Midoriya that he has a tendency to butt in where he shouldn’t (like fighting awakening his fire quirk in the Sports Festival). But trying to change someone’s mindset who has never experienced anything quite like Kota has makes for an irritating conversation. That actions is what helps you get to people. Midoriya left the plate of food he brought for Kota and went on his way…
Nearby the training grounds, the new members of the League of Villains have grouped up and readying for their assault on the U.A. students. We see a bunch of characters we have never seen before like a person is a leather gimp suit and a reptile ninja and some guy with a baseball bat. But there are two familiar faces being Dabi and Himiko. Dabi begins to monologue how foolish the League of Villains were for attack pro heroes with low tier thugs back at USJ. And that this time, things will be different. And also, that the orders were to wait for three more people to show up…
It’s the next day and the classes are back at it individually working out their quirks. Aizawa can tell some are starting to wear out from exhaustion, so he reminds them how far as a class they have come and that they should remind themselves where they came from. This also reminded Midoriya about All Might. He asks Aizawa is All Might and the other pro hero teachers will be coming anytime soon. Aizawa tells Midoriya that U.A. is still trying to keep a low profile from the villains and that All Might is suspected to be on the top of their wanted list. As they converse, Pixie-Bob announces to the classes that there will be a game tonight, pitting Class A and Class B against each other in a test of courage. Class A will need to make a lap around the woods in pairs while Class B will try to scare them into not finishing. Later that night, the class were separated into pairs and everyone has a partner, besides Midoriya.
They are in the middle of the festivities and students from Class B start to notice some thick smoke. It eventually gets so big that everyone begins to notice. Some students are even incapacitated from it! This is the start of the attack on the U.A. students! Pixie-Bob has been knocked out, some students are still lost in the woods, and Kota is far from everyone else back in his secret hiding spot in the mountains!
Oh my gosh, what a cliff hanger! The attack has started and there are very few pro heroes around to help out the students. Next episode, we’ll be introduced to some of these villains and hopefully get some kind of hope that some more heroes will arrive! Until next time guys, Plus Ultra!
