Big Hero 6 is now a 2D animated series on Disney XD! Well, it will be soon! The one-hour special will air on both Disney Channel and Disney XD.

A one-hour special “Baymax Returns” will air on Disney XD and the Family Channel on November 20th at 8 p.m EST. It will be followed by the first two official episodes of the new 2D animated series, ahead of its 2018 broadcast date.

The TV movie is still set in San Fransokyo and explores the moment (in the 2014 film) when Hiro believes that Baymax is lost in the portal forever, discovering the chip that his late brother Tadashi built to create Baymax. Hiro then starts school at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and becomes determined to rebuild Baymax. There, he meets the Big Hero 6 team: Honey Lemon, Wasabi, Fred, and Go-Go.

Returning to their respective roles are  Ryan Potter (Hiro), Maya Rudolph (Aunt Cass), Scott Adsit (Baymax), Jamie Chung (Go Go), Alan Tudyk (Alistair Krei), Genesis Rodriguez (Honey Lemon), David Shaughnessy (Heathcliff) and Marvel legend Stan Lee as Fred’s dad.
