And it’s Tuesday again, which means new Blu-rays. This is a relatively small week with only a few big releases. One of my favorite movies of the year is getting released today. Kong: Skull Island is out now. Kong was a blast, such a fun popcorn flick. This was a movie I was really looking forward to and I wasn’t let down. Can’t wait for Kong and Godzilla to meet up.  Surprisingly Best Buy is only offering a 4K steelbook, so we aren’t considering that one. Target though, is offering a very pretty lenticular slipcase and some bonus content.

I cannot stress how much fun this movie is. It is just pure giant ape chaos and it’s beautiful. Seriously this movie looks so good. The special effects are stunning.  This is a very good looking movie with awesome over the top movie monster fun. This is the perfect movie for the home theater. Fun for the whole family. Kong looks awesome, the mo-cap is on point and this is the biggest Kong seen in film so far.
